I am assuming this is referring to the "Joke Time" thread, which is gone now. At least 1 year ago the forum mods made it clear that political discussions were discouraged on the P99 forums, P99 official discords, in-game, etc. because of how vitriolic people were getting.

"Joke Time" basically stopped being about Jokes, and was becoming political from what I remember. So I am assuming the people who were being political in that thread got a ban.

I learn towards scenario 2. I don’t fault for any of them though, it’s not my place to criticize how someone spends their money, and this game gives as much or more entertainment value to the regular players than any other form of media they could purchase. And I don’t even play the game, hence having a different opinion than people who do

The only thing that irks me is that he also doesn’t strike me as a frequent lurker here. He normally only posts in RnF and I had figured doesn’t really read here. What I am guessing is that he pops in for a minute, reads the last four or five posts of the top thread, says “THIS SIMPLY WILL NOT DO” for roughly the 5th time. And reports. Then sits in a quiet content puddle of Power for about 20 minutes. And goes on with his day

That’s only a guess. I can’t truly know what someone thinks or does. I could be very wrong. And even if I’m right, I still don’t fault it. I would respect it slightly more if it were someone who regularly posted on and actually read this section, and therefore was tired of sifting though all the political bullshit to do so. But to me it is more likely to be a brief weird flex. Which is fine if true

Thread makes me not want to play P99 again. Just canceled my WoW sub after hitting Glad for the season, and was like what should I do now ;) but if the corruption thing is still going on, it just has no appeal to me. At least in WoW I can let my skills do the talking. Always feels bad to play a game where lesser skilled players can dominate because of outside forces fingers being on the dial, and the names mentioned are ones I've had issues with going on for years now. Interesting observation how they have never been banned, but so many of the people they antagonize have been.

I'll prob be banned for this post, but oh well. Ain't logged on in half a year, and wouldn't encourage any of my many WoW friends who frequently ask me what EQ / P99 is like to do so either.

The only reason discussion of politics was able to come back was because some mod named Ambrogio or something like that which was the one that I believe was going nuclear on everyone a few years ago deleting threads and banning like crazy quit. Might have been due to the stress, sadly

And also because Cd288 has a life and doesn’t check the forum that much. Ya’ll were essentially flying under the radar

I know a bit about the guy and it’s unlikely he will be checking that often but if he is going to keep increasing ban lengths when he does then this forum is gonna get real quiet

The dude that is responsible doesn’t even regularly read this part of the forum. He randomly comes in about once or twice a week, sometimes decides to flex on everyone, then bounces out for like a week until next time. Or sometimes for even a couple weeks/months

I could come up with all sorts of insulting IRL inferences from that online behavior, but being that I know more about him personally than I do many people here, it would be stupid to try because they would be incorrect
