I must admit I never played The Elder Scrolls. If I was about to play it should I play the new Remastered Oblivion, or the old Skyrim or wait for the new Elder Scrolls? Aren't they working on a completely new game of The Elder Scrolls right now?

Not really interested in the Lore. To be honest I always thought Skyrim looked kinda washed out and ugly. Even the Oblivion Remastered looks sharper than Skyrim. I rather wait for the new Elder Scrolls. What's its name? I mean The Elder Scrolls VI.

I am not super confident in Bethesda's ability to create a good new game, especially after Starfield. It's worth noting that Oblivion Remaster was not done by Bethesda, they just loaned out their IP to an outside studio.

Haven't played the remaster yet but this sounds a bit like the higher difficulties on the OG, when certain types/levels of enemies converge with certain equipment. Oblivion had some pretty wacky buff spiraling you had to do to drop high difficulty enemies quickly, it may be tuned for that. Like 2-3 taps of a spell that tanks their resistance to frost before hitting them with an ice comet, increasing its damage by a factor of 10. Trivialized the game if you let it, just like in Morrowind, which led to Skyrim's no-fun-allowed spell system.

Why do they still try to make speaking look natural in games? It's never gonna look natural. Speaking in videogames has looked like a pez dispenser going "blap blap" since forever, regardless of how many polygons and shaders are on screen. It even still looks bad in pre-rendered cutscenes.

it's already possible, it's just not economical and people just turbo fuckin suck at making games these days, you'd need a crazy John Carmack type fucker doing optimization like we haven't seen since the original Doom and in a world where people expect bigger, better open worlds than the previous games like in GTA or whatever the fuck people find appealing by the Call of Duty franchise still..etc..etc

like best case scenario, you do a Sega and make something amazing that's a bout a decade early and you lose your entire company over it.

I'm not really surprised it can't run a new release, I guess I'm surprised that new release is just a remaster of a game from like 2009. Runs things like GTA V, Baldurs Gate 3, etc just fine on medium settings. I couldn't care less about graphics so I've never bothered to upgrade. I mostly play old shit anyway. Which begs the question why I would buy the remaster when it's about 90% new graphics and just a smattering of changes/new content.

So I just ended up refunding, until I stop being too lazy to upgrade my graphics card, or they dramatically optimize it.
