NEC vs WIZ VP items

Have a trak tooth that could be turned in for either a wizard or necro, which class should I prioritize? Nuke robe and soul well staff are both items I have had my eye on for some time.

Key it all, both get great items. thats a judgement based on which you wanna gear first, we cant tell you that.

robe is ok, if it's still 2013 and there's a reason to log in a wizard that isn't bane or TL.

A VP robe is a luxury on a wizard. Even for leveling you typically quad. For plat farming guards it may beat quadding but never compared so not sure. It has its use for a select few mobs that can drop valuable items but none of those are really worth doing anyway and anything that summons will still wreck you. In raids more or less everything resists the robe. In groups the cast time is so long that many mobs will be dead before it lands, and you don't really group anyway.

However, the lure staff IS useful in raids. In many fights there's only so many lures or banes you can cast and the lure staff unlike the VP staff actually lands. It's still quite pitiful DPS however and often doesn't change the end result (then again what does?).

The VP staff for necro will be much more impactful and the robe is cool too.

the robe is cool because it literally opens up an new playstyle for the wizard of kiting while watching your cast bar tic down when you abuse the long cast time and click it in corner of a wall and kite for 12 seconds returning back where you started and the Rend spell channels

it's just newgame+ for retired wizards tired of kiting vulak guards every week that want to camp a Wurm Lord Shawl in style

VP is 99% toys. If you aren’t there to loot a monk staff or a couple other literal upgrades go with the key that you think will be the most fun.

sort of, crown for casters is pseudo bis (white dragon helm is basically same thing), robe is 2nd bis, ear is really good which both of their chars can get without the click toys along with bis cloak.

Yea my percents were off. There are still some legit stat items there. Just not sure for a necro or wiz it’s make or break.

The clicky or fashion fun would be my own decision process.

the items i listed were bis or 2nd bis, how is that not make or break when choosing, VP is always underrated. shits good there for just about anything. both get good clickie items beyond that. this question was dumb, key both , both get shit thats good. we are 9 years deep why choose.
