59 Warrior Returning to Blue - What to Do / Buy?

Hi all,

I stopped playing Rabkan on Blue 3-4 years ago. I’m coming back but have been tracking how Blue has changed. I would like to finish him - get to 60 and do some raiding.

Right now he has got full SS armor, a CoCW, some decent droppables in other slots (needs +6 neck) and has an Infestation and Frostbringer for weapons. I read about the aggro patch nerfing Infestation’s aggro. I have 75k on him in cash.

What do folks suggest I buy / do getting back in now with the economy where it is? I was thinking of getting a Wavecrasher and Fungi so I could solo out to 60 and start raiding? I have also honestly thought f it just buy a Blade of Carnage or SBoZ to DPS faster to hit 60. What is the best way for me to get him geared up with the resources I have?

Keep in mind I have the clicky heal BP from SS, though that definitely drives more downtime than a fungi would. I’ve also tanked the spore king before - though getting into that group is hard to say the least.

I see a lot of love for Herbalist Spade - seems like the group weapon of choice? Also for neck, Dragon tooth Choker. I had been saving for CoF but now it seems like that’s kind of a waste - may as well just find a good way to get better haste and hold off on upgrading CoCW.

He’s unguided now - the alliance I was in probably dead

If I was to solo, where? My old way was always pugging in KC or Sebilis but that seems dead now

I have always loved my Truncheon of Doom. And i think i finished off my warriors grind to 60 in KC

That makes sense - I’ve considered one of the of those. Any idea on the slow % on the proc? That was part of why I was considering Wavecrasher

Procs Tepid Deeds. Level 24 enchanter slow. Looks like it's 32% slow? I've never owned a wavecrasher, but wiki shows it's procs breath of the sea which appears to be a 20% slow.

I'd hold off on any big purchases (though fungi and herbalists spade are pretty reasonable) and join a guild immediately. Once in you can chat people up, find alts to level with and probably even start raiding at 59, esp, if you're willing to get on a bot as the situation calls.

As for puggable dungeons, Velk's and to a lesser extent the hole (rats!) are other options. Another option is just cold calling 52+ shamans asking to duo.

So it is still possible to pug nowadays on blue? I think I have the hole key. I did Velks a bit but mostly in premade. Pugging was my go to. and I’ve been worried it was just a no go now that green has been out for so long.

I’m super down to play alts for raids / whatever. The point of EverQuest is to go on adventures, so I’m happy to do that on another char. i saw Kittens is semi serious raiding now? I did a little bit of last string HoT tanking for a while.

Will try to finish building this PC tonight and get set up. Sounds like a plan on Spade and Fungi.

Cobalt BP’s are like 8k. Reaver about 6k. ToD somewhere between that probably.

Do weapon procs work the same as spells? Does that same level requirement/slow speed apply to the proc? I have never known honestly..

How much are JBoots MQ now? I have SS BP so afaik Cobalt BP is just worse right? It’s just another Invigorate Click?

I think like 4k or so.
Cobalt is like 2.5 seconds faster if you can trust the wiki. I’d just keep going with your SS instead.

Roger! I’m honestly excited to hear there are still pugs out on Blue. If ya can’t put on P99 then it’s over - the living museum is dead

You can pretty easily solo through 59.
If your a good race,the 2 barbarian guards at the qeynos bank are really convenient.
You can buy bandaids right by them,sell the swords that drop more than covers it. Fungi helps but clicky bp good enough with bandaids

Might as well buy a Narandi's lance given he's 55+.

As for guilds, Kittens is definitely an option. Basically any guild will take you though, so long as you can listen on discord and aren't actively disruptive. I find 'elite' guilds on P99 have a low bar to entry and provide the best time to results ratio, but ymmv. Also, you can move around between guilds, so there's no wrong choices.

I found near chardok to be a much better solo spot than KC, either sarnaks in the fort before the zone in or killing just inside chardok near the zone in/zone out/castle entrance

See if you can buy loot rights for Dain Axe or KT Axe, I would think both would be fairly cheap.

Otherwise Fungi/Truncheon/Reaver is pretty much all ya need. I got the eyepatch on my war but regret that as I don't think it really made much of a difference as warriors struggle with soloing due to lack of CC anyway, imo that kinda of stuff is better spent on a knight who has more potential outside of raids.
