I know I know, read the docs. i did!

I have just followed this how-to (https://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2651), to get setup for P1999 play. The game client looks right, I get the old login scren, my login account works, I get to the server list, and select any of the P1999 servers in the "Legends" list at the top (well, ive tried green and blue anyway), and after I get to player selection I get the error that my spells list is out of date...

I DID download the P99 files zip, Version 57 (as is listed in the above howto) and unzip it replacing files in my EQ installation directory. I even looked and see the updates spells_us.txt file in there, though there is also a spells_en.txt that looks like it came from the installation media?

Which files should exist? is there a newer spells file than the one included in v57?

Thanks!

Have you tried applying the v57 patch again?

Thats all thats required, Titanium install + latest patch files applied

Filenames can be an issue with Linux and Windows, but it's usually the other way around (ie. files named in Linux can cheese off Windows, but Linux never has trouble reading any Windows files).

Still, you could double-check for files with spaces in their name, or special characters, or anything else that our Windows-based app might balk at. Especially any files you might have introduced (eg. a screenshot or config file that you renamed).

The patch has dsetup.dll all lowercase and Linux is case sensitive with files and this will cause issues

Rename the patch one so that it is uppercase as DSETUP.dll

I ended up reinstalling it, and using a pre-configured setup in Lutris. Which, by the way, im impressed exists... Anyway, it works now, but thanks for the response!
