View Full Version : No recovery of minor internet hiccups on pfSense line.

I have been having this problem on my main internet fiber line while playing Project 1999 where everything runs great, but if there is even a minor internet hiccup while playing of any kind, the game slowly dumps to "you have been disconnected" via the green net stat bar slowly going down. It doesn't ever recover, it always dumps to disconnection. I thought this was weird, but I have generally been living with it. This wasn't a problem before when I played previously in 2021, and my setup hasn't changed, but that was also a long time ago and many Windows Updates and other updates ago. Same hardware though.

However, I recently moved my home office to the other side of the house, and I am using my brother's separate dedicated line until I redo the ethernet wiring. And the problem went away. Instead of dumping me, it recovers.

Both lines go to the same box outside the house. The only difference, other than a separate allocation from the ISP, between the two lines is that my main line goes through my pfSense firewall, which I have been using for a very long time now, previously with no issues with P1999. To be fair, pfSense has gone through a few new builds since 2021.

Other than this issue, everything runs great. Is there some setting in pfSense I should take a look at that might be the culprit here?
