Also I was thinking for GM events since I know EQEMU is clicky as shit I could do Team Good, Team Evil, and if people want to stick with their crews and grief both teams they could be team Bandit or something? Dear diary, I want to fight over Naggy like Classic EQ. I am using the tools of the saints of EQEMU community to recreate the perfect simulation of classic mechanics to make this possible(higher dmg on melee for balancing but classic is unreal+the coding). Anyone who wishes to participate logs on with a full set of gear that makes you more than adequate to compete.

NEW PLAYER WHICH PATH DO YOU CHOOSE. Left, Drug addicts, zombies grinding their 20th toon, lifeless, no pvp. Right, Instances, endless grinding, seasonal grinding (lol).

OR A NEW PATH. Simulated PVP events that mimic the classics where everyone is on the same level, no grinding, log in get a team and PVP. It can happen naturally on my box too, naggy/vox/ct/golems/inny ETC.

EQEMU has not had a good PVP box since I started which would be 2010 or some shit? Some custom Image/Devnoob boxes which were fun but small scale pvp. VZTZ was ok except low population spread out over the continent, one guild box again "The Dream Team". I never played the previous ones.

Red99, Came out the gate broken, resist code didn't work, instant root nets, umm, instant wands and hoops and shit people could kick themself out of game instantly if they had IP exemption(which was used in PVP relentlessly by Tune and Emumu. Then Bam Kunark, Tstaff 18 second proc, Earth pets unresistable root, into fucken I mean the entire time 1 guild PVE box which basically all players from blue lol.

Velious dropped I can't speak much to it, right now on Red the mechanics feel ok but it has a long list of other issues that make it not viable.

Come home EQ players I may be a little mentally unstable but what do u got to lose. I 100% assure u I am too stupid and incapable to do anything with your IP address. In fact I have ports open on my shit I'll probably get screwed over first tbh but I mean what can u do bring it on.

Was a good trial run. Took a long time but was easy. Made buffs permanent because fuck that shit. Problem came up when Fire giants were fearable but with a little research I found you need to adjust special_abilities 10,1^13,1^15,1^23,1^26,1^42,1^17,1, the fear is the ^17,1 I added.

So after I summoned a giant for our adventurers they slayed the dragon.

Some guy was insulting me for putting 125 accuracy and 125 attack on the Plat Jac rings you start with. I hate this about my box so I have to defend myself.

There is something in the code that cuts accuracy and dmg by about 50% in PVP. I am not capable yet to change source code and recompile. As a fix to this problem I added 125 Accuracy and 125 attack to each Plat Jac ring (No Drop) starting item. After extensive testing the dmg in PVP feels accurate. While at the same time DMG in PVE is accelerated by a decent amount. I like both features. It looks dumb on the rings and feels custom I get that. I had to up the melee dmg somehow and found a way to do it temporarily until my skill grows. I apologise for it but at least rest knowing the classic combat is good. Before this change melees would miss 90% of the time and then hit for nothing with BIS weapons. It doesn't change max dmg, that is calculated by weapon, it changes hit chance and chance of higher dmg roll.

Also I tried other ways, I can't adjust PVP PHR(Physical hit resistance) with the DB, I can't change dmg weapon bonus that is calculated by the dmg/delay of the weapon. I can't really change it any other way without changing the code. Temporary fix that works well. Without extensive PVP testing I can't alter it further. Apologies to anti custom people.

Anyone remember in Kunark of Red99, while being a one guild server, you had to PVP as like 1/10th the size underdog numbers/gear. 10% of the strength.

On top of that, every 3 days Trakanon drops like 5 trak teeth that have an instant clicky 1500 hp lifetap. LIFETAP. Unresistable, useable in PVP, when most people have like 2k-2500 hp.

The community is sick, all the boxes have sucked, people are bitter, people are untrusting, Red99 is like ultimate toxicity probably more than Dota2 you have some dedicated psychos who because of Velious expansion can cause a lot of dmg with small numbers. Camacho is a light hearted normal smart funny kinda guy(no homo) but he sounded legit mad in his post I read I could feel his frustration.

I played Live on the best PVP server that existed, I know what this can be. That's why it's like I can't explain it to most people they didn't experience. I can 100% say from the start EQEMU has sucked, almost a full 10 inch dick right to the balls. Mechanics matter.

Working Resist Code

Went through all Nukes/Dots/Heals to revert to Classic values. Deleted Non-Classic spells.

Disabled Reagants for Symbols/Pets/Hate/Sky Ports/Levitate. Also made Arrows 1000 Stack and cost 0 as well as Backpacks.

Added Starting Gear. Classic Quest content has been added as starting gear as well as Dungeon tier Weapons. Some basic Jewlery MR gear has been added as well.

Legacy Items are in. Manastone is somewhat rare. Guise/Mistwalker is in.

EDIT Jboots are added to Starting Gear.

3 Box currently, but might switch to 2.

Increased Drop Rates for Dungeon/Planar gear. Bosses are classic drop chances.

Jboots/Sow work Indoors.

Charm lasts full duration

Fixed Zone points / Swapped new zones for the classic ones / Swapped new weapon models for classic ID files. Tons of time reverting content.

Instant max skills script with accurate skills for your class

Buffs are Permanent duration, but still follow PVP mechanics with Dispell.

Fire Giants are now not Fearable. Fixed Tranix spawntime to 8hrs.

PvP was broken on the server. Accuracy and dmg seemed to be down 90% in PVP only. I added 125 accuracy and attack to each Jac ring. I tested it for a long time and the combat feels acceptable. It is a bandaid fix till I learn how to edit source code and compile. It does feel proper when you play and further adjustments can be done, band-aid fix that should work functionally.

Spent all day on the melee code. DMG was too low on all melee. Tried to increase Skill_Caps above classic values. Oh no it doesn't match the client. Export client files change the Skillcaps.txt put it in my client. Denied, Client is hardcapped.

Try to do increased skill modification on weapons for their respective skills. Works like shit. Tried to lower defensive skills on PCS cap them lower? Works like shit. Tried to add insane amounts of accuracy/attack to items. Works like shit.

And then I was perusing the rules and found this. Tried the DB settings before but until you set that rule to True it doesn't work and have adjusted melee to what I'd say is damn near perfect.

Disabled the +accuracy and +attack on jac rings, everything is classic.

My head hurts you guys are welcome. This is a new box now and I have to say my melee code is sick as fuck.

Birdop had some other suggestions.

Pets are wonky. Kick twice for high dmg. Pillage enchantment can be resisted (fixed). Nullify/pillar are only removing 1 buff. What else did he say, melee wasn't right(fixed). Some spells are wonky (need to use exported DB files, Ice comet specifically has a cast bar error that you can fix by downloading my files).

Really minor shit. Lavabolt is a bow and arrow animation lol I need to fix that because you can LOS it into mobs.

Spellcasters main spells, Ebolt, Plague, Blizzard Blast, Ice Comet, Lava Bolt, Starfire, Ice are all Unresistable, with the 2/3 dmg nerf still applicable from Classic. No partials.

Magic CC basically perma resist at 100 MR, if it does land with the 5% chance it lasts 1 tick.

Magic CC/Debuffs work perfectly in PVE for full duration.

All of your critiscisms so far about eqemu pvp have been less than complimentary. Help pages out of date or bad info not withstanding these people volunteer therefore they fix what interests them (skill level limited). Documentation may come, time allowing.
So write your whole journey down, traps and pitfalls exposed. Share it. Others following will think wow what a top bloke stasis is.
