Make them pay! Eat the rich!

like 90% of all politics is theater

that chart also doesn't take into account all of the tax gymnastics and loopholes that are used to reduce ones tax bill

but if we forced rich people to a "fair share" it would only equal like 10-20 middle-high income households

and if we did that these people would simply move all their shit offshore, including their businesses, that's millions of jobs who also pay taxes

yes success should be incentivized not penalized

the US tax system is not broken so much as US gov't spending is

these fuckers are borrowing $100,000 per second!!!

look it up

In the defense of the poor morons. At somepoint $1,000,000 just doesn't fckn matter anymore and that drives inflation without driving plebe salaries. We should be like china with more billionaires paying 50% of their salaries. Also a bag of jet engine bushings shouldn't cost $90,000.

Tbh it's all dumb because if we weren't stupid and decided to lay down the law with the stupid plebe we'd be able to generosity do it on half our budget in a nice way. Butt ya'll don't want to enlist or actually do any work or put your balls on the line... not you. The collective you.

G-d bless. Bitches.

nice carlin quote

also yeah poor people complaining about rich people not paying taxes are off they rockers

To be in the top 1% of earners, you're looking at an average annual income of $819,324 (https://www.unbiased.com/discover/banking/how-much-income-puts-you-in-the-top-1-5-or-10)

estimated number of households part of the 1% is 1,313,064 (https://dqydj.com/top-one-percent-united-states/)

About 0.4% (50,000 people) of the 1% don't pay taxes

If those were taxed at about 25.9% it would be nice.

Top 5% makes on average about $335,891 and 0.7% of them don't pay their taxes.

Not going to give more links than this because the thread will be deleted.

But the rich need to pay more and a larger percent.

Laffer Curve and Hauser's Law

You give them too much credit.

My statement contains their derogatory language which in turn isn't a constructive argument to apply those terms too. I do think they were bothered by my zinger.

It's more productive to discuss economic policies and their potential impacts using reasoned arguments supported by linked data.

The "nuh uh, you ...." lacks conjecture. :D

Top 1% of earners don’t pay taxes on one-fifth of income, study finds (https://www.marketplace.org/2021/03/23/wealthiest-americans-1-percent-dont-pay-taxes-on-one-fifth-of-income-irs-offshore-accounts/)

...the government is leaving about $175 billion a year on the table. That’s how much the report estimates the IRS could collect from the top 1% of earners....

This even excludes the 0.4% (or 50,000+) of the 1% that aren't even paying their taxes.

24037

And Tax evasion by millionaires and billionaires tops $150 billion a year, says IRS chief (https://www.ifcreview.com/news/2024/march/us-irs-chief-exposes-150-billion-annual-tax-evasion-by-us-wealthy/)

But billions lost are acceptable to you?

They don't want a population capable of critical thinking, they want obedient workers, people just smart enough to run the machines and just dumb enough to passively accept their situation.

AKA everybody arguing about taxes while the owner class fucks the worker class. It's gotten more decentralized since the days of monarchs, and we have cool gadgets and gizmos to entertain us and give us happy lives. But the core structure hasn't changed. There's a small slice of humanity that has almost all the stuff, and they get to decide how much stuff everybody else gets.

Workers that fight each other over tax rates, instead fighting the capital class, are the perfect example of the passive acceptance Carlin mentioned.

You're right, they do! It has never been easier to survive in human history.

And thats one of the major problems in the western world.

Human beings have an innate need to fight for survival. Humans need to feel like their efforts have made the world a better, more controllable place.

These days, nobody has to hunt for food, or hike for water, or find shelter from bad weather.

So in lieu of any actual real problems, they piss about whatever bathroom that they feel most comfortable taking a piss.
