I got my blacksmithing skill up to 115 to make full sets of banded, but I honestly cant remember what to make to skill up after the chest pieces become trivial. I don't think I can start making fine steel yet. Any suggestions?

Fine plate I believe. And while on the subject, are fine plate dyes and cultural armor in game yet?

No they are not

I am not sure that guide is "classic"
It bridges the gap between banded and fine plate with embroidering needles and ornate chain.

"Create embroidering needles (needle mold, 1 metal bits, celestial essence, flask of water) until 122"

"Make racial needles (embroidery needle + a specific essence) until 132."

"Gold ornate chain bracers to 135."

Can we do that?

Or just save up $$ and start on fine plate bracers?

after banded you can only make fine plate currently, so lots of failing and PP will be involved to make BSing any higher. I stopped at banded as well.

I got up to 142... the price is totally prohibitive for something that's not even useful or cool. Sigh.

I stopped at 150 or so I believe, mostly due to plate dyes purposely being removed from game when they shouldn't have been since they are classic.

Currently, the only option is to make fine plate. It's extremely slow and expensive. My blacksmithing's up to about 150 now, and I've started selling fine plate on EC. It's not profitable yet, but once I skill up some more it will be. I haven't tested whether dyes work; I know that some of the required components are in fact sold by merchants (e.g. books on how to die, jars of lacquer), but I haven't tested any of the combines.

Nice conspiracy theory. Why don't you find evidence and submit a bug report?

I am not getting into this argument again:

You didn't prove in that thread that dyes are classic. Classic isn't the same as kunark.

The other guy in the thread proved that they were at least in game a few months after kunark was released based on detailed information about the dye components.

I really don't think the devs sit around and decide "fine plate dyes suck, therefore we will not release them." Nilbog's personal feelings toward what dyes did to the uniqueness has nothing to do with its implementation.
