I was just killed Tantor (https://wiki.project1999.com/Tantor) as a 59 Ranger in ~40 minutes. So yeah, Rangers are boring. But they still can pull off some pretty neat stuff!

Kiting a mob for an hour is pretty boring. I know cos I did something similar to solo an ice burrower on mine - never did it again!

No snare. Resisted 17 attempts. Just kiting in wolf form to be faster than the mob. Turning around and shooting and turning back.

Hate to say it but this was not a great example of proving your class isn't boring haha.

Rangers are super fun though. Harmony, snare, root, strong melee dps, surprisingly great buffs at high levels. If you can manage to get a sky cloak *chef's kiss*.

Haha no, it truly was! I even said, "So yeah, Rangers are boring." I had music on and just grinded. A lot of classes could do it quicker and flashier, but a lot of classes also can't kill it so it was worth it.

There would be nothing boring about a 40 minute unsnared kite of a level 66 npc. Furthermore, if resulting in a 30k’ish drop even if just literally for a taxidermy trophy.

Really there isn’t anything boring about the class. People if anything say they are fun but aren’t capable of much.

When phrased like this it certainly is quite an achievement. I once (on live) pulled a snared HG in WC around for 30 odd mins (accidentally zoning a few times as well) for like 12pp, a fs longsword and a plains pebble.

Take a bow (not the archery kind...) and i retract my gratz, you are now a bard comment from earlier.

What is that "90" doing by itself in your chat box? Did you hack that somehow like mess with the eqstr file?

Yup! I run P99 through an old PS1 Gameshark!

In the chat settings (right click the the chat window bar) you can set it to number or something. And then I have the color set in options.
