Kunark Forever. No Classic Content, Ever. I thought about raising lowbie weapons to bridge melees to black iron or bone bladed but I decided it's too slippery for me and went to no custom.

Boxing Enabled. PvP settings are wonk on PEQ so what I landed on is No PvP till level 30, then FFA no level range 30-60. Exp is very fast hopefully you don't get griefed too bad.

There's no YT or leaderboard so there's really no incentive but if someone goes out of their way to try to grief low levels I might intervene. If people call LNS or tap out you should allow them to leave, if they're fucking around and won't leave training butt hurt I mean I wouldn't get involved 99% of the time but reserve the right to.

Legacy Items are in. I have reverted non classic models, improved drop rates in classic only, and the general feel of PVE is pets are OP (but not in PVP) Melee can solo to high levels. I am doing it on an SK just to fuck around I went 1-15 in an hour or so?

The goal of this box would be easy access to higher levels, especially with help from a guild and hoping for some mass PVP? It's not about small grp PVP YT/Leaderboard, I don't care about the existing retards that live for that shit.

I'd like this to be more casual approach for the love of the EQ PvP, if I did a yellow text it'd be <Guild> has defeated Lord Nagafen! or something.

Alright blog out, final one, nailed the name 10/10. The mechanics/items/mobs/zones/everything feels pretty great. Box is officially released. And it won't be seasons or short lived or any of that bullshit. Seasons is retard tier. Come fuck around your char won't be going anywhere. I made a thread on EQEMU dev forum lol but basically the PVP setting is - what level does everyone hand in their book.

You can still grp/guild/buff/heal etc so it's rallos no range FFA once you hit that level.

If anyone has any ideas on how I could make that better within those parameters I'd be for listening. But there needs to be some compromise to use this sexy ass world.

Almost done fixing CT entrance to classic.

Level 8-11 Lizardman warriors/mystics, in the classic positions off memory probably took me 10 mins to fix. I just did Warriors though who cares lol.

Why is Quarm using 2.0 CT?

Outside CT is fixed, Put a bunch of static alligators in CT sewers basically like blue. I'll try to learn pathers later idc that much just patching it up for feel/looks and levelling.

OK so Lavastorm is empty. All the mobs, the fire drake, the snakes, the basilisks are all converted into new models and no access to old ones. I don't want to learn how to create mobs yet and get into minor details.

The only zones like that are Paw/CT/LS. I put in Crusaders in the Ziggurat in CT, and Ravenscale mobs in the Temple to the left. Alligators are in the tunnels. I may try to add an Avatar of Fear someday they have the model I just need to adjust the stats. I can do that room easy.

- Spawned Lvl 8-11 An_Onyx_Drake all over the early part of Lavastorm. Static drakes to bridge the gap from Nektulos to Najena. Not classic at all but it's a functional bandaid and it's pretty gay but what can you do. I think I can do the goblins properly since I had sola goblin models n such working on that now.

Paw is still shit. I spawned a very noob Ishva Mal room right near the entrance and left it.

UPDATE -

I went through Paw on Red on my monk/fd crawl and placed half the zone down on my box, the Ishva Mal room is classic and most of it is fairly close to the p99 one with some minor differences.

Also figured out how to apply a faction table to npcs lol so stuff I spawn won't be indifferent I just tie them into the zone npc faction table similar mobs etc.

I think P99 wrote that into their files? But basically this is how you do it manually if you ever play a different server and want classic skeletons.

Read the thread but I just tested it you delete Global6_chr.s3d you get classic Skeletons.

But the texture is bugged you need to delete gequip5.s3d. Some guy went through all the shit with some viewing program and noticed the old skeleton was still there.

So my box has classic skeletons, if people do that.

You need to revert all skeleton models to 60 in the DB which is the luclin skeleton mode, then delete the luclin skeleton file basically.

When I was playing Quarm they looked weird Luclin skeletons I was wondering wtf. But I guess anyone who knows whats up edits their client shit.

For some reason gequip5 makes Lavastorm crash? And probably other zones? I had to restore it.

Tried looking in P99 files and they have a Global and a Gequip but it doesnt seem to fix it. I don't know. I still keep the Global6 out and use the old skeletons/wolves.

OK I accidently instead of making all Skeletons race 60 Luclin model in the table query, I made all mobs in the entire world Luclin Skeletons.

So I used my backup and it's good. First time I've had to do that but at least it's functional.

I set up Kissassist full grp fully automated and made a 120 paladin with 50k aa's on live. I can log in FV and prove it to anyone who doubts my skillz with binary shit like this.

My pal would pull, sham slowed/buffed, ench buffed and kept exp aura up, cleric healed, rogue moved to back backstabbed, mage would send pet and keep dmg shield up, and nuke. etc using MQ setting up a perimeter circle with only mobs I choose to pull. You can avoid certain mobs only grab certain etc.

I will also transfer the knowledge I learned in 20 hours on Quarm. I really took note of the intricacies of the lizard tail drop rate between the low lizard camps lvl 3-6, from the higher ones 8-11. Also the medicine bag drops only on the higher camps. The bronze short spear was a hot item on the higher camp also.

This breaks the game anyone without a bard can't even play, on live there wasn't that many bards. Also I think Nihi won because of their bards on Red99 basically single handed. They had good wizards too.

And actually in fact the only reason Azrael competed the few times it did was because of Lite the bard in my opinion. You cannot compete without a proper bard on classic EQ which kinda just ruins it. And if you get left out of the bard group it hurts your feelings, it's just all bad.

Same thing with enchanters. Enchanters on live were a total joke. Charm was unreliable and you couldn't cc or root anyone even with tash. With the release of rapture they were an initiator but no enchanter was doing the shit they did on these boxes.

Perma reliable charm with high chance of rooting your target is just so off note it's not even funny.

I think you got a good server but full custom like with your own "spells, zones, items and mobs and faster access to PVP" may be more appealing to all the PVPers rather than classic kunark because BiS Red players probably dont wanna start over unless it was "super official professional release" so they can race for ego reasons.

Like I would consider learning to build "EQ 2.0" with the Kunark client rather than sticking to classic at this point.

But im probably still gunna play on your server anyway.

And just my opinion. Do what you like.

Also PVP titles based on kills or if you killed the other person you get their title, would be cool. Definitely some rank system that you can visually see like with armor dies or a custom robe or weapon or whatever. But I wouldn't know how to code that.

Red99 is stuck in Velious which is a god awful expansion. No one has made a good EMU garage box. Voidd had no idea what he was doing I guess he can program and shit but it's easier now. My history of EQpvp can replicate what was fun about it mechanically.

Getting people to try it will be the hard part. Getting the hardcore nerds won't happen they're burnt out and I don't think any of them had fun playing anyway it was stale each box.

I think the fact that it isn't seasons and aimed to try to promote more 60's fighting at once might make it appealing to the nerds. Just need a bit of a snowballing and I'll make it good enough.

A dark blue bat at lvl 51 duo Cleric/Mage you get 14% per kill. I was thinking it was low but probably fine for Kunark shit.

If you're being PL'd 60 would probably take a few hours/one solid day.

If you're doing mage/cleric or some OP combo itll take you a couple days or a few days you have to run back for spells etc do all that shit.

Melee with total junk weapons will be difficult to get straight to 60 solo. I wouldn't recommend it. But a little help with a weapon or a crew melee's are fine.

I am going to add Mes line back in as not unresistable. Mainly for PVE. It will be the first spell I try to thread the needle as working in PVE but not working in PVP. I could reduce mobs MR manually maybe? Or just make the minresist low enough to thread it.

PVE is easy mode but I think harder camps will be difficult without Mes working in PVE.

ROT is dead. I never played Gangsta box but I played ROZ and the grind is what made me quit every time.

They also did progression lock one time where I was stuck at 20 for a week 30 for a week I quit after 2 weeks.

If I could do more with rule sets I would but I need to learn SQL and even then I'm not sure if I can modify PEQ database so this one I blame to the pvp devs that didn't release their shit for the public for noobs like me.
