best ways to make decent plat at 16

Typical advice would be to focus on leveling and the plat will come easier at higher levels.

In your low to mid 20s SolA is close to EC can be good plat as well as exp.

Gfay sisters ia great if the camp is open.

Other than that, it is a bit awkward getting plat, Id just focus on leveling and selling everything for spell money.

"decent plat" is a pretty relative term, but at your level I'd say bandit camps in the karanas. They should still provide leveling experience and the no-drop sashes turn in for bronze weapons in Qeynos right next to a vender you can sell the weapons for plat.

It isn't the greatest cash ever, but it's pretty steady and there are enough camps that you shouldn't have any trouble finding spots free of competition. Check out the Zone maps and you should be able to find a nice camp near enough a vendor (especially with sow) to also sell off the trash loot and convert copper to gems that you can stay until you're full of sashes.

A little higher level and I'd probably head to South Karana and hunt the low tier aviaks. If they're carrying a 2H or a mace, it's usually bronze. KFC is usually over camped, but there are a ton of roamers.

You can also try farming Greater Lightstones in North Karana and trade them in for the concordances, which sell for about 9 plat iirc. That's not as steady an income, but it can be profitable.

Lots of options I think. Oasis is great for experience, but definitely one of the cash poorer leveling spots in the teens.

go to LavaStorm and kill all the gobbos and vendor them at the druids and gypsies

all the junk including the rusties

do it while naked and with only bags in ur inventory so u have the most weight carrying capacity

u could probably rack up about 800plat in a few weeks doing this. probably a bit more, if u played 24/7 u could prob make 300plat a day

money and plat drops are sorta wierd on p99 i remember making a ton of money at lvl 19 in Overthere off light cons that still gave exp but meh not so much here !

it is better to be really poor in this game and higher level unless you are a melee and need to buy an item to be able to kill exp mobs --- the the only times i would stop to make plat is on a melee character that was struggling to get exp *** AND couldn't farm their own item to get higher level (PGT for example) <<<< this is OG crazy logic tho there are better items to farm on a low lvl melee lvld off like gnoll teeth or something for better plat to get something better than a PGT faster than farming a PGT, that is all a bit of a secret, Gfay systers is good, so is Gargoyle eyes in OoT (if it's available and ur like 26+ with some basic gear)

As someone else mentioned, the sisters in Lesser Fay can be pretty good cash. There's a little camp nearby to sell in and there's no faction hits to be concerned about. The gargoyles on Specter island in OOT isn't bad either. It's not gonna set you up for retirement or anything, but it will keep your head above water until you can start porting for plat

if ur evil u can kill dwarvs/sisters in OOT too when big enough, there's a few low lvl ones around lvl 12-14 or so, butt watch out for the big pirate and big sisters in the huts

personally i like out of the way places, u can also make some ok plat in lake rathe and rathe mnts off the camps there if u can sell to vendors for a lvl 20 something butt the mobs wont give good exp

i would avoid farming wisps in wc cuz griffawns and other players are just constantly wiping out the zone for grizzly pelts

you can make some decent plat at the entrance of guk too, i guess u could sell to the shaman spell vendor

and then when u get bigger again there's mammoths in everfrost

the problem is you may have to move around to find camps that are available and not perma camped by some BiS twink alt tabbing between characters

that is why i recommended lavastorm !

last time i went into befallen there was a bard pulling the whole zone to level someones alt cleric and i am pretty sure they where boxing or leveling a shared guild character

https://wiki.project1999.com/Treasure_Hunting_Guide ... but honestly, I'd argue that worrying about plat (especially as a caster) at early levels is just a bad idea. Stick to leveling.

As a low-level Druid, all you need are your spells and maybe (if you want to go farm it yourself) a Goblin Ghazugi Ring. Otherwise, plat really won't do anything: you can buy a +5 Wisdom (or whatever) item, but that +5 Wis will have no meaningful impact on your leveling speed.

However, taking time out from leveling to farm plat will slow down your leveling. And keep in mind: when you get to higher levels, you can farm plat much more quickly.

Thus, it really makes a lot more sense to level, then farm plat, than it does to do the reverse.

Kill some Bandits in WK, loot bronze weapons, take bandit sashes for more bronze weapons and raw plat and exp, way less busy than the sisters camp.

You're close-ish in level to reasonable EXP/plat camps.

Just push through til 20 or so. Paineel guards / lower level HHK guards are solid, though as a druid I have no idea how you do those.

Mid 20's you can do mammoths in everfrost via charm kiting, which is solid. Lots of other camps open up mid 20's as well.

If you truly need some cash right this instant to get spells, etc. You could do as others suggested and hit up Nybright Sisters until you're set.

The bandit sash quest in Qeynos made me a lot of money when I was leveling my toon on green. I would just bind at the turn in guy go to wk and clear the bandit camps. Get full bags and port back.

Erud's Crossing has a lot of Kerran cats that can be single pulled. Area is good from about level 10 to 15. They sometimes drop Amber gems which will sell for a few plat. Not quite the Lfay sisters rate of platinum, but if you start on the Qeynos/Tox side its much closer and a way to get plat early.

Ppl claim 1500 from like 12 to 16 but it is more like milking it to 12-20 and sisters slows a fair bit at 16 ish.

GLS Lightstones will take you to 20 aswell if u like running.

Upper guk is also really nice. Just leave a green up and fight nexto the green frog to avoid runners. The spuders are good money too.

A surprisingly good cash camp I rediscovered recently with my baby ranger was aviaks in south Karana. If you can vendor at the top with Krak (any sneak class, fd, faction modifying class or with good enough baseline racial faction) it was amazingly good while xping.

I started there I think around 19. I remember having to port once out of there to train my level 20 skills in Surefall.

Egrets can drop as much as 5 plat in raw coin (range less than a plat to up to 5p - average 2ish plat). Bronze weapons drop off the higher birds and birds of any level can drop an assortment of low level gems. Egrets in particular are such a low level mob I wonder if them dropping KC level coin is a bug.

Regardless, I found myself not getting annoyed as I leveled. To keep spawning the rooks/harriers and later the Avocets you have to keep killing off Egrets to open the spawn points. Each one was like a little treasure chest for the difficulty.

Only problem is that you can end up in a situation where all or most spawn points are Avocets … and unless you can kill them at the lower end of the range to xp there, you can end up with nothing you can kill. I moved a high level toon there to wipe out the Avocets until I was high enough to kill them on my own.

I went into the zone with 50p for ports and left with about 2k extra in coin and bags of stacked gems despite donating GENEROUSLY for PoTG whenever I saw a 60 druid in the zone. You can “bank” at Krak by buying his stackable vendor gems (3-4pp and unlimited). You can either sell them back at a minor loss converting gold/silver/copper to plat or just hold onto the gems until the next time you visit a banker. I had to stop converting coin to plat because my plat was getting too heavy.

All in all I think I left there with a haul of about 6-7k - excellent cash for an xp camp in the 20-30 range. It was far better than the paw gnolls even though they can drop FS.

Great rediscovery. Nostalgic reading your description. Aviak village was incredibly popular back on live during the 99-01 timeframe. It has lost some appeal since SK zem is standard and it isn't on the 'exp superhighway' many now take instead of playing everywhere like we did on live.

That said you found one of the hidden gems in EQ for that level range.
