With the recent release of TAKP database and source, a small team and I have been working on a classic PvP server.

PvP Ruleset:
One box/client per IP
+/- 4 levels
PvP starts at level 2
Coin loot in PvP
Global Yellow Text - PvP Announcements
Classic at release
Legacy items
No target rings
No maps
Timeline that follows the original EverQuest progression, all the way up to Planes of Power

Hail everyone we are officially opening the doors to Reign of Thule (TAKP Client) beta!

To get started, head over to https://rotpvp.com/ and create an account.

Once your account is created, you will be able to log in to the User Portal.

From the User Portal, click Create an Account. After that, click on Download Client.

Once the download is complete, unzip the client, and launch eqgame.exe directly (you do not need to create a shortcut or add patchme. It will automatically work.)

Upon launching eqgame, it will ask if you want to use the Luclin UI. If you hit No, you will be able to use the classic "Stone UI" and upon pressing F10 in game, can switch to the Velious UI. The stone/velious UI allow cool things such as one line guild tags. If you choose to do Luclin UI, your guild name will be below your name.

Once in game, and for the duration of beta, there are a few commands to help you test. They are:

#betabuff 50 will level you to 50 and grant you buffs. You can change the 50 for whatever number desired.
#betabuff will grant you buffs if you don't specify a level.
#betaport will teleport you to the zone of your choosing.

We welcome you to test and report any bugs. Rewards for participating in beta will be available in the form of consumable illusion potions and other fun, classic, non game breaking, GM given, items sometime after official launch.

Most people who play EQ pvp servers do enjoy the PvE aspect of the game. They just prefer raids and camp disputes handled with PvP instead of taking turns or whatever blue servers do. Stasis probably raided more than anyone active on these boards btw.

Pve classic and kunark is good. Levelling is boring we’ve all done it a million times. I sped up classic drops to hasten transition to kunark.

In fairness slow grind boxes are fine mines fast which is also my preference. People can play my box while playing other boxes easily.
