Human Monk of Quellious. Hunt spiders and craft yourself a full set of Cured Silk Armor. Quest for the Purple Headband and Red Sash of Order. Quest for the Treat Fists. Quest for the Robe of Lost Circle.

Just a lone, nomadic Monk, separated completely from society, wandering Norrath on a mission from the Tranquil.

I can think of nothing more noble and glorious in EQ.

I’m doing SSF on a Dwarf Paladin. Lvl 10 named Roqko.


My pick was for hafling because of their well rounded stats and uniqueness.

But Troll and the regen is probably the easiest option..

I voted wood elf as they have some nice, but soft, face advantages (hide, night vision, forage) but have more faction issues than human. Iirc humans have some potentially strong racial armour (maybe not actually possible cos of need to imbue idk) which imo would give too much advantage.

Also a warrior doing unimbued leather armour may be interesting? Idk.

Gotta go human. Trying to go hardmode night blindness is harder than slightly lower wood elf stats. Also human agi is way lower than wood elf which will be noticeable if your health drops low and agi dips below 75. Eyepatch all the way.

It's not about the stats; dark elf is lower. It's about the lack of access to cultural plate. True about the AGI though

Nothing about innate ultra vision, hide, and high AGI indicated hard mode imo. Having hide would be huge for Afks to regen health. Slightly lower str, sta doesn’t offset all those racial benefits.

Think baseline human is probably harder. Cultural is a pretty steep investment when you're trying to farm plat by yourself on SSF. You probably wouldnt have it for months.

The racials on wood elf are decent: infra, forage, hide, decent agi.

That was my thought as well. Cultural meh, wood elves/dark elves have a lot of racial perks and only a bit less strength than human.

I think the decision has been made to roll human, good luck!

Love it. Hardest SSF build. But in the end you end up looking the coolest.

Tried Rogue, managed to get to level 9 and was dieing to blues enough to make me not want to do SSF Rogue. Warrior easier than rogue at least at early levels due to extra HP.

Though I don't think it is. I've leveled rogue normally before, and you can solo pretty well on monsters that you can intimidate. Sure it takes a bit of chasing, but warrior can't backstab like rogue can.

How long ago did you use intimidate? From what I understand it has been migrated to a less reliable function that better reflects the classic era.

And I thought I was a masochist for playing SSF. To be willing to chase mobs at full run speed is way worse. I just quit before I got that far, died to a blue con 5 straight times at level 9, quit, and deleted the character.

I like to grind 400 hours per mon hun character, then delete them for a new weapon to play from scratch (completely unnecessary i know) on the reg.

Makes me feel pure.

Voted halfling. I like Troll and regen for solo since it’s a massive downtime saver and melee stats are pretty good.

Not being able to go to good cities is a bummer though. Halfling has XP boost and no XP penslty making the SSF journey a lot less work intensive.

For good race I would go Gnome, tinkered armor would be nice late game.
Evil race I would pick Iksar for regen, and some nice quested armor. Sadly we don't get all the pike upgrades.
I started a ssf gnome warrior on green last week, got covid so not done anything other then lvl 2 so far lol.
