Project 1999 looks very good and I'm quite interested. However not being some teenage gamer anymore, I'm not sure if EQ would be doable as an adult. I really wouldn't be so cool with spending what time I have for games sending tells looking for a rez, especially in a private server where clerics likely wont be as readily available.
That said, is there exp loss on death? Can only clerics rez?
Thank you.

Not always.
No.

There's lots of clerics around, you just have to offer enough money or convince them to stop doing what they are doing to help you. Or group in dungeons with a cleric and don't worry about it.

Exp loss on most deaths. Arena/Duel deaths do not make you lose xp.
Paladins can xp raise at lvl 59, Necros can xp raise but requires an essence emerald. other then that, you gotta use clerics.

Clerics and paladins can rez.
Paladins don't get EXP rez until 59, so you can't really provide your own rezzes until you are basically done leveling.
Even if you make a cleric, you won't be able to res yourself into well into your EQ career.
Rez exp table for reference:
Revive 0% CLE(29) PAL(49)
Resuscitate 50% CLE(39)
Resurrection 90% CLE(49) PAL(59)
Reviviscence 96% CLE(56)

Ouch. Alright, thanks for the info.

You act like death is something that randomly happens to you several times a play session.
Don't be dumb and death is pretty low on your list of worries. No deaths, no need for rezzes.
Play a class that is a capable soloer and play smart.
Pretty much every class can solo enough to get some exp while waiting for a group. Clerics, warriors, monks and rangers solo poorly, but can be done situationally.
Mages, necros, shaman, and druids solo particularly well.

I was a fairly heavy EQ player up until luclin, and understand which classes solo and how to play so death is virtually a non-factor. However as mentioned times are different now, spending what game time is available playing no-risk exp grinding isn't as appealing as it once was. Also, my preferred class isn't much for solo'ing.
This isn't intended as any kind of complaint, it is certainly true to how EQ was which is obviously the goal of this project.

Your OP made it sound like you never played EQ before. Bottom line, if EQ death frustrated you on Live it will again here.

Its just as brutal as you remember.
If you're not into the time sink required just to level, stay far away.
Because sometimes things can go really wrong in EQ.

I'm on offering free rezes often recently. I even offered 50plat with each rez last time.

It is doable. Quite a few players here aren't teenagers anymore. Many are working adults with families that don't have the time to play like they used to.
If you are worried about rezzes, join a guild that groups up often for exp and fun, and chances are they will have clerics that can rez, druids that can port, and so on. There are guilds that cater to laid back, casual, or semi-casual play styles.
Yes it is a time sink. Just accept it, leveling will take a long time.

Its working for me. I'm rushing through my fireland dailies every night to get to my EQ revival. It amazes me too how an ancient grind fest keeps my interest so. Not sure what it is but the EverCrack is flowing again.
I suggest you drop the $40 for titanium and see where it takes you.

I'm sure that with a little networking among your peers, you'll be able to find a better deal for a copy of Titanium.
