Is there any way to make the Warden Symbol quests less frustrating?

Been at this for about 8 in-game night cycles now, only ended up with two hearts because the ghasts are sparse and the heart drop is fairly uncommon, and Larik still hasn't shown up despite killing his PH every time it pops at 8PM, 2AM and 6AM.

This is turning into a much bigger time sink than I expected it to be.

I would go grind and keep an eye on the timer. Gate back and wolf form (no brownie aggro) and run around tracking.

Never understood why so much dangerous nonsense was in this zone. It's supposed to be a lowbie zone connected to a newbie zone and you've got brownies, dark elves, shadowed men and that stupid SK unicorn that always murders me.

Just to be sure, do I kill all four undead around the tower where Larik is supposed to spawn, or just the one at the bottom step? Or do I not kill them at all and let them repop naturally? I'm not sure.

Okay, dunno if any of what I read actually makes a difference, but I read to kill the undead around the obelisk until it's skeletons only, and use the initiates symbol while standing on the obelisk. Sure enough at 8pm he finally popped, and then the courier a bit later.

I nearly died tracking the courier because I ran too close to the dark elf camp, but I got it down. Only the warden symbol left to go after.

People are in guilds cos they want to help each other, especially first time mains, get pixels.

I can't even use the Epic's clicky until 50, but...I'll PM Zumbutu and see what he says. I can do the running around and foraging now at least, but I'd need a VS stone and a lot of help with kills.

The idea was to hopefully get some DKP at 55 and use that to buy a VS stone from the guild bank.

That said, tanking VSR is really easy these days. If the schedules align (the hardest part) and you can get 3 enchanters, a 60 tank, and some solid dps, it’s a done deal. Or the right mix with less people.

Keep two stacks of dots, a rez scroll, and be sure to have a firefly globe summoned. Track VSR (you have to be further in the zone with a Druid unless using a pet, or zone line with a ranger). Cross your fingers for a turnout and that’s it.

So I guess I'll offer Woodchips some plat when I'm ready to start working on it.

Nobody MQs the goblin, it's easy. Harmony always works, you're just not understanding how aggro radius works. They are prob too close together if you're not getting singles. Try pulling ph out with a low spell and rot it off to the side. Lev helps with water push interrupt too.

I'll try again after I've done the Barracuda, by then I should have my swimming up. It was barely at 40 when I attempted the Goblins.

Saw one tainted last night, no corrupted, but a pally came along trying to do the Cleric epic and Bergurgle spawned after an hour, so I'm happy for him.

Okay, I coined a way to make the goblin shamans workable. I can't rely on breaking up the camp and then holding it, too much health/mana expended on one goblin to break even, and the casting problems underwater only make it worse.

Instead, I've bound at the island above the underwater cave and use that spot as my battleground. Using Harmony and Enveloping Roots, my fastest Root spell, I pull the teo PH's, root them both, then get out of their arrow range and gate back up to the island. Once they unroot, they chase me up to the island and I fight them there. It's two at a time, but landing my spells is much easier when drydocked and there's enough room to root one and then isolate its buddy on the other side of the island if needed.

A little annoying, even hairy at times, but it works. So at this point it's just a matter of sticking it out until I strike gold.

I completed the quest on a cleric one time. I thought the clickie seemed pretty mediocre considering how difficult the quest is. I ended up re-rolling that cleric, but the quest left an impression on me. Quite a few clickies in game that are kind of "meh" like that.

Sham also said they have a leftover Cleansed Spirit of Antonica they'd be willing to give me, which will save me having to do the goblin shaman. So really it's just the VS Stone, Kedge Crystals and Seawater. And I don't know how long it'll take to find sellers for those. I haven't seen any in EC or blue trading forums.

And no, I'm not willing to go to Kedge Keep and farm for a corrupted seahorse, under any circumstances. I've had enough underwater nonsense and seahorses are no joke.

Scratch that, another Kittens actually farmed the shamans and got lucky, just MQ'd it for me. One Cleansed Spirit down.

The 3 nameds are cleric mobs on 24hr spawns. I'm sure if you find one up (they're up a lot), just ask in /gu and port people to come help. Just need a basic 3-4 man comp.

I'd only get the gloves if you're planning on charming a lot. Pretty useless otherwise.

And grats, druid epic will be amazing for your root rotting endeavors.

I made the mistake of not checking when the last scales had sold. That was all.

But Bard may be a distant future toon with Kittens since they do kill Vox. One of ours got his Singing Short Sword only a few days ago.

Park your druid in tov, hop on a guild cleric bot. Figure out the CH chain macro and pull your weight for your drops rather than sitting there doing nothing on a useless druid.

Win one of your HoT pick 3s, hop on druid, loot, and leave for the night.

55+ for non clerics. IMHO I’d keep leveling and pick up a thurg BP. Stats are still really nice, it’s cheap, the click is the best of the set. Throw in ES legs and that’s a nice combo.

Please don’t be another class purist and say specialists only. Pretty sure Druids get CBlast at 55 too.

Just saying, all you need is:

- War
- Ramp Tank (pally pref but it doesnt matter)
- Monk puller
- 3 Clerics
- Bard
- 2 Enc
- 2 Torp Sham
- 3 Rogues
- 1 Ranger

Use coth bot to get people up. Druid bot for potg.

2 torp shaman is enough to take care of the aoe dmg on the melee. 2x enc for sieves (early enc slow always helps but sham usually override it quickly).

Obviously not a strategy for everyone....but thats the most lucrative way to do HoT (if everyone is serious about playing focused and not AFKing). Gear certainly helps, too. When I was coming out for BeefHoT we had some big boy melees with some near BiS gear, but its not required.

I’d rather clear more and get less loot than low-man HoT. My dice suck with 17 people or 40.

That said, in a perfect world less druids show up than melees and clerics (especially at this point on Blue) but something something about leading a horse to water.
