Hello, suckers! :D

This is the feedback thread for the event. Once again, what went wrong/right? Was it fun? etc etc. I would also love any funny stories, videos, or telling your favorite part of the event.

I don't even know all the shenanigans that went on, but I did hear that Bristlebane himself pulled Lady Mirenilla for some lucky guild. Well, when I say pulled, the dragon was summoned on top of their raid. Great job whomever that was on the kill!

This event wouldn't have happened without the folloowing efforts: Menden, Galach, and Medris spending hours working on the mobs and their getting the loot setup. Abrogio, Stigion, Visceryn, Blistig, those named above, and myself got to have a lot of fun playing the tricksters (and coming up with ideas on the fly), writing dialogue etc. Some unnamed guide spending hours deciding how to shuffle the loot (IT WAS ME).

I believe I can speak for staff when I said we had a blast the day of the event coming up with new and exciting ways to cause mischief for the players.

It was a great event; thanks for all of the effort. The giant-halfling Yeli fight with it being summoned and CH twice then banishing our tank to EC was a great touch. I won't forget that one.

With respect to itemization, green scales on wuoshi and earth staff on velk were both clever and intuitive. Vulak robe on Sont was a great surprise- we knew it had to have something good but no one guessed the robe.

Overall, thanks a lot to the staff for the effort. I appreciate it.

I particularly enjoyed Venril Sathir, where the GM's called out for him to flee at 30% life. He teleported back to his room and then popped back and forth between the main room and his spawn room. After recovery, we split the raid so we could handle fighting him in both locations.

Very cool event, enjoyed it a lot.

Very cool event overall, it was neat to see the loot mixed across the raid mobs and getting some baller drops. Always good to see the server come together for some fun unity kills (even when red wurms wipe the raid multiple times lol).

the saturday quakes in general always turn into aids for casuals that try to play on sunday because once all the raid targets are down the hardcore raiders just power level shared toons for dkp and engage in borderline zone disruption the rest of the weekend.

for that reason i would suggest a bristlebane specific quake where all the timers are reset but not everything respawns at the same time (maybe like a rolling timer where a new raid mob spawns every 30 minutes), and make different mobs spawn in different locations (ie vox could spawn at KT location and KT could spawn at Faydedar), and 3x the hp of any mob with vulak loot and 5x the hp of any mob with pre nerf no drop loot.

if you cant kill the avatar of war with a guise on it then maybe you just don't get avatar loot until the next non bristlebane quake. team up or dont bristlebane shouldn't care.

Cool idea, I know a lot of people enjoyed it.

Ideas for next time: Bring back warder loot mixed into the equation or pop warders all together - this is an era a lot of people never saw because we all got cucked by Rampage. We get they made history here but I'd have to assume more than 80% of those in that guild are gone, and that loot never is even shown off anymore. You guys brought back a legacy item on the tunare drops (cleric staff), why not warder legacy items?

Also, the guise debacle. Why are they so rare? Average has to be less than 1 a year over the years. Even if 50 were given out a year, they'd still be extremely rare. And half the time I hear that someone gets one, they put it on a gnome cleric or something silly so who really is counting. Along the same lines, there's nearly 0 gnome illusion masks on the server, again, warder loot discussion above.

Anyway, I think the mix up really invigorates the server, it should happen as often as the drafts do.

I missed the event except for Tunare as well, so doing another one would be nice to experience. Thanks for trying to keep the server fresh.

Best fun I've had raiding in ages.

make different mobs spawn in different locations (ie vox could spawn at KT location and KT could spawn at Faydedar),

That idea was toyed with, but it can break mechanics of the fights. Even something simple that I wanted to do - Move Talendor from Skyfire to Lavastorm (Bristlebane screwed up and put him in the wrong place) wasn't possible because it literally breaks the mob.

Warder loot was off limits for this event. I won't say never, but I'll be surprised if we're ever allowed to put those items out there for an event.

I had a ton of fun moving the items around and coming up with themes/ideas/trolls. There were some really good items out there that turned on up some easier mobs, unless they got moved around at the last minute. The Green Scales on Wuoshi just make sense - It's a GREEN dragon - but I digress.

This event was big and took a lot of work/planning. I don't know if we'll ever do it again. I've suggested on April 18th (Taxes Due in the US) that we nerf mob drops as a "Tax". I don't think you guys would enjoy that as much though :D:D:D

Some ideas:

Instead of making most guises fake, just make them only work for non-iksar and it'll have roughly the same effect. Live with your choices, lizards.
Introduce fake manastones that take health when clicked but don't give mana. Plant a single real manastone on a random mob in the level range of evil eye.
Love the idea of including completed quest items like the PoM flowers as mob loot, perhaps expand on that with spirit wracked cord, garzicor items, essence lens items, etc.

Thank you for not including warder loot. If people want that, they will always have the next iteration of green to try.

Very much appreciate the time and effort that went into this event. There was a resoundingly positive response from our guild. The biggest takeaways were the jumbled loot tables and the staggered spawns. I think a "shockwave" Quake in the future could be fun where Velious quakes first, then Kunark, then old world with a random time between continents so that guilds can't just sit and wait knowing exactly when Kunark/ Old world will quake. Speaking from someone who can play EQ while working from home but not as much on the weekend's due to family commitments it would be great to see an event happen during a weekday as opposed to being prime-time weekends like the last couple have been. No complaints just offering feedback. Thanks again to the CSR team for the time they put in for our community.

Thanks GMs and Guides! Any GM events are good things, but especially creative ones with some serious thought and/or time put into them!:cool:

Is it possible to make GM summonable raid mob pet gear? Maybe do a Poison Breath proc dagger, Frost Breath proc dagger, CH dagger, and a dragon roar proc dagger.

Then just give Eejag a Talendor illusion along with the dragon roar dagger and an immolating breath proc dagger. And some type of GM only pet buff that gooses the stats significantly and lasts for like 7 days. Preferably something so difficult that it would require mass server cooperation.

In lieu of dragons being moved to different zones (since they present technical issues), it might be worth spawning named drakes like the ones from the classic Mayong event.

If that isn't feasible, other classic options come to mind such as Faydedar in LOIO.

Perhaps Classic and Kunark Fabled mobs could be used. They drop the same loot, just slightly upgraded. Like kunark mobs drop loot upgraded to be on par with velious loot, classic to kunark, etc

Personally, as someone who tries to get outside more :) , it would be nice to know a rough time when events happen/supposed to happen. Trying not to stay up till midnight in case of a quake and spend all day on the computer waiting for something to happen. But was a fun event, thanks!

I love this idea. I'll ask if that's a possibility.

Can we not tailor make events to give riot as much loot as possible? It's such a disproportionate handout. So many ways to work around that. Lockout timers, bag limit events, qualifying mob or events to earn other mobs, etc. Many previous events did not just award the largest zerg the most pixels possible.

Overall the event was the best the server's ever had. Sleeper's was a blast. Tanking a warder was exciting. Random loot was cool and so were most of the unexpected 'mechanics'. Can tell CSR put a ton of work into it overall. And it's awesome that some legacy items like Guises, Beads, Manastone were given out.

It kinda went off the rails at the end, open Vulak/POG took 5 hours. Server can't handle more than 220 people in one spot. Open events are just tough, I think you really need to have 2-3 things going on in different places. Maybe clones of Vulak/Tunare that have to die simultaneously, or require ring war to be going on or something.

The nobody that is bellringer persists for some reason. How is Tempest doing? Ready to give back the lockets you stole?

To reiterate my point; all of the loot that didnt go to riot was in effect a rounding error.
Server got mostly nothing. There's no problem with the meta being run a huge zerg thats semi organised. There is an issue when GM events are tailor built to feed that zerg. By intent or not.

great event you dont even have to change the mobs appearance and its attacks/aoe/ect. you could just make random loot and that is terrific for an event.

The event overall was pretty sweet.

I think similar events in the future can go off really well.

An easter event where items are hidden on random mobs, ex. A gnoll pup in blackburrow drops red scales. Maybe not that extremem but theres zones that can get loaded that possibly someone that isnt in a raid entity can get it. Iksar illusion eggs maybe?

Maybe do an earth day event, PoM flowers, growth loot, small manisi plant, shovels, earth staves added to raid bosses.

Fourth of july event add fireworks to mobs

The possibilities are potentially endless.

Maybe something having to do with these??

Guild that has the most foraged by end of event wins x?
