/log function doesn't work in compatibility mode

I was crashing pretty much every time I camped but found the solution: run the game in WinXP compatibility mode. However, when I do that, the /log function doesn't appear to work--it doesn't write to the logfile, and therefore Gina doesn't work. Any solution to that?

Move your install out of program files.
