I have created my first character on Green - a level 14 Cleric. I’m familiar with EQ but it’s been a long time. I just have patchwork armor and a staff. Trying to figure out what gear I should be trying to get as I level.

The most important items are the scrolls for your key spells. If you find your self soloing, grab a decent ratio weapon.

you should be able to kill greens in the warrens butt naked at 14 and once you get factioned with heretics you can solo paineel naked with undead nuke and root, assuming no level 60 raid mains are farming the area for coin incessantly.

Do you group or mostly solo?

If solo I’d save for a Poison Wind Censer and silver chitin handwraps.
If grouping I would start adding cheap wisdom items.

Jboots when you can would be a great quality of life item. I’d rather be in banded with those than with extra jewelry. In most groups you should be mana neutral for healing and if you aren’t people need to wait. A larger gas tank won’t help in that situation (grind groups).

At 14 you'll get better bang for buck from +mana than +wis items imo.

At low levels Willow wisp are great way to make money, With cleric can nuke and summon lvl 9 magical hammer and farm wisp. Can turn them into NK for xp plus good plat. Or just vendor think greater is 4? and Lightstone is 1.5? Ez money to afford spells. Then spend extra on baby cleric gear in EC. If you turn them in NK greater lightstone is worth 10pp, and lightstone i think is 3? So worth for xp and more money.
