If I'm reading the map in your link accurately, most if not all of its spawn points should be in place of standard gargoyles around the castle area in Velketor. I've spent more time in that area than most people on P99 (it's a good spot for the wife and I to duo) and have never seen that particular NPC. Neither have I seen the droppable arms listed as a potential drop for sale by anyone else. I don't recall ever seeing it with a tracking class either. If it had a fixed spawn in a part of the castle nobody clears, it should still spawn once in awhile from server resets and whatnot. As such it probably does not exist on our server. I do not know whether it should exist or if it's a later post-classic addition. Velketor's did receive a few updates during the Luclin--Planes timeframe.

Chanter and Cleric combo went deep into Velks, past the village, to the castle. Once into the first courtyard, in the midst of a group of trees was a single gargoyle, A Frosty Watcher. Not Icy, but Frosty. We killed him off, and he dropped 2 of these.

Frosted Sleeves of Miracles.

Anyone know anything of this mob or this drop, please post.

Thanks,

More than likely. Haven't seen any related information pre-2003.

I'm getting old and forgetting a lot of this stuff, but I think this was either the May 2003 patch or August 2003 patch.

A ton of Kunark, Velious, and Luclin zones were "revamped" to make them "more appealing." The changes were not well documented, but they basically just added a few additional named NPCs (and loot of course) to many 45-60 dungeons (including Veeshan's Peak before the major revamp to a PoTime-level raid). Other than VP, Siren's Grotto was the only one with major changes.

Ldon is when all the classic zones got majorly boosted loot

Lol. Spoken like a true raider.

Heresy.

LDoN was the vital bridge from the loot pinata of PoTime to the soul crushing Gates of Discord. The LDON raids were wildly over-tuned (sans Valdoon) and would often be a complete waste of time for 54 players if loot was anything other than one of the good augs (weapon, specialization, 35 AC offhand).

Ldon is just a bunch of randomly connected hallways and you get your loot of vendors with coins. It is as far away from going down into a dungeon and finding loot.

LDoN was the great reward for mages who quested their Clay Bracelets in 1999-2000.

LDoN was a great expansion for casuals who had little to do in PoP except level in the handful of zones that weren't locked by raid bosses.

Repost from the 2014 LDON thread:

LDoN was a bone for non-raiders. I'd say casuals, but the people who were draped in 220/100 LDoN BPs were the most hardcore motherfuckers playing the game - they just didn't raid.

And if none of y'all experienced the clay bracelet, it was an item that allowed mages to summon 100s of eye of zomms in seconds. The LDON missions of "kill X number of NPCs in the instance" initially did not care what NPC. So, AEing 70 eye of zomms 5 seconds into the mission would suffice. The hard part was coordinating a group cycling through missions for a exterminate # NPCs one.
