Is there any explanation for why Halfling guards were nerfed?

I tried googling it, and can’t find anything. Considering they weren’t nerfed until like 10 years into Blue I have to assume it has less to do with being classic, and more to do with game balance?

I know on TLP they are still on a 6 minute respawn timer, where as the Treants in SK no longer drop plat on TLP

This leads me to believe that the halfling nerf probably isn’t classic (could be wrong, but again, I can’t find any information on why the change was made).

they literally nerfed everything cause spoiler.. the elf economy kinda gets detached from anything resembling a healthy eq server so time around year idk 2 or maybe 10. anyway they decided the best way to make it "classic" was let the old players keeper their money and then make it so anyone new is up shit creek without a paddle.

don't worry though u can just ask for items in ec tunnel afaik.

pretty sure they nerfed a bunch of newbie zone guards based on this reasoning: they were permacamped and newbies couldn't run mobs to guards. it killed the new player experience

that being said, this far in, nobody is an actual newbie with a tattered shirt and short sword because the second you make a level 1 you're gifted a kunark-tier weapon and basically a full set of gear by anyone that sees you

I got a fine steel staff..... that was it
