Is it possible to complete a class-specific quest while playing a different class?

I spent some time collecting the items for shaman Totemic Armor on my druid, before realizing that they're No Drop and that I can't transfer them over to my shaman to turn them in. Can my druid complete these quests?

Also, I'd like to complete the cleric Bracers of the Reverent quest, since I happened to come across and kill the NPC that dropped the necessary items. I tried going to Temple of Solusek Ro, hailing the quest giver didn't give me any dialog. Can I still turn in the items? I'm hesitant to shell out for the enchanted platinum bars until I know if the quest will work.

yes you can! the temple of sol ro especially, its all on the same faction for the most part IIRC but im sure some key NPCs you need high faction for, so be on the look out for that.

So, do I just hand over the items even though hailing the NPC doesn't result in any dialog?

The NPCs will give the same dialog regardless of class. The only thing the NPCs care about is your faction. If they aren't responding to dialog, you should check your faction...it may be insufficient.

I also want to mention you don't have to actually go through the dialog for any quest. If you have the right faction level, you give the items, the NPC gives the reward. Whether or not you have talked to him. The game does not keep track of what you have said to which NPC. It's not like more modern games.

But yeah, please check your faction before turning in your hard-earned items.

Yeah, I know enchanter has some quests that require faction.

I followed a wiki that said I did NOT need amiable faction.

But that's part of the quest for the rod that gives you faction.

Did you fix the wiki afterward?

Make sure you do the Mage Focus Item quest for your Shaman also! I've Reclaim Energy'd my pet countless times.

I went back to double-check, and I can get the quest dialog, so perhaps I was invisible or something. Anyway, now I'm off to get some enchanted platinum bars to finish the quest.

Definitely. Root-rotting a cyclops right now to go with my broom.

Yea in general if they talk to you, you can quest. If not you can likely faction. With exception to the mage focus objects and star of eyes, most the class clickies won’t work if it’s not for the intended class.

If you have a higher level I’d definitely MQ quest for your lower level.

Just to confirm how this works. I've got a couple quests where the necessary items are split across multiple toons, specifically shaman Totemic Armor. I can take the first character, give the first quest items to the NPC, then log in the shaman, give the other quest items, and get the reward. Is that correct?

Yep assuming faction is proper, the npc doesn’t have extra items already from a past player (unlikely) or just some random EQ glitch.

People MQ quest armor and epics all the time. Last piece handed in gets the item(s). A botched MQ though can’t be petitioned for reimbursement.
