New account on forums can't log in

My friend created a new account on the forums, but it always said he had the wrong password when he tried to log in, so he went to the reset password form, got a reset password email, clicked the reset password link and then hit 'this form' on the prompt that comes up.

But the bloody new password won't get mailed!

Edit: We tried doing the same thing in internet explorer instead of chrome and then for some reason we got the new password mailed
