What stat increases your chance to hit? Str/Dex/Agi? (lets assume you are 40, max skill in archery, and attacking a mob lvl 35-39, so level should have a negligible impact).

Do any of those stats increase the damage a bow does or is the only modifier on that the delay of the main hand weapon?

Basic search suggests *no* stats affect bows, either damage or chance to hit. Just weapon skill and your level vs target level, and possibly whether you are moving or not (according to Daybreak forums on that last one). Maybe a ranger will know more (edit: like if maybe +attack spells make any difference)

It should be dex, but I think it's broken and is str? Regardless, the best thing you can do for your bow damage is equip the slowest 2h weapon you can because the bonus calc is also messed up, but at least in your favor.

STR absolutley increases the damage done by a bow.

It should be dex, but it's str on P99.

Game Mechanics: Archery uses STR instead of DEX!!!! (https://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=242638)

Strength is the correct answer, it works with bows the same way it works with all other weapons.

STR and primary weapon delay increase the dmg output with a bow, but DEX should increase the proc / crit rate

To do the highest DPS with a bow, you want the lowest delay bow, with the HIGHEST delay 2h weapon. Damage bonus is calculated based on your primary weapons delay, and added per bowshot as un-mitigatable damage bonus.

There is no bow, regardless of damage, that can do more damage than this configuration, at least until this "bug" of damage bonus applying to bow shots is changed or resolved.

Basically you want to be an ogre/troll/barbarian warrior with a weighted axe and a bow of the destroyer?

Been away for a bit. Was this 'bug' ever fixed?

Nope, it works. Only issue besides pvp you’re gonna burn through two bags of arrows on most raid encounters. Dagarn bow 100% sub one second shots. Even a 4 min which is quite short is twelve stacks. Earthshaker or weighted plus an exquisite is quite good though and manageable.

Focus on str otherwise. Dex helos for crits but I wouldn’t gear for it at a detriment. If planning on bowing in a perfect world grabbing VoG, Dex before Focus, or being buddies and begging and enchanter for boon would work.

Sorry, dagarn bow 17 delay @ 100% haste I mean. It’s fun but burns bags of arrows.

Having a high delay 2h is a big boost in the dmg/shot and the dps.

Is there some reason this bug has never been fixed? It's a pretty significant bug that especially has a huge impact on PvP. For what possible reason has it just been left in the game? This isn't some tiny, insignificant bug that nobody cares about, it's literally meta-defining for the classes affected. Seems like such an absurd thing to leave in the game. We all know this isn't how it worked originally.

Probably just not an easy fix as it sounds like and there is basically only 1 dev that actively works on these types of issues.
