Hoping this post gets enough traction to spark GM interest -

What are your thoughts on P99 implements hot zones? How many of you are tired of fighting in the same zones? This would spark interest and let people discover zones that have a ZEM multiplier for X length of time.

Why not just go to another zone, no need to chase the ZEM, play to enjoy... not to rush to 60.

That would be fun, so not a viable change. Maybe you should suggest all ZEMs be removed? That might get traction.

The reason why people want rotating ZEMs is because it incentivises people who do chase ZEM to be in a different zone. This allows greater opportunity for grouping with random people in the high ZEM zones.

I like the idea personally, since everybody knows everything about the game anyway. The devs would probably just need to let people know in the login message whenever this changes, since not everybody looks at the forums.

It's an idea many have proposed before, but I really don't think it will ever happen.

Why? Because if you look in the upper-left corner, you'll see that the entire point of this place is classic EverQuest ... and rotating hot zones weren't a thing in the classic era.

Agreed. Chances are slim it will ever happen. Blue is technically open to the possibility of "custom content", but that has yet to be seen.

Love the idea... wish they rotated zem weekly so more zones got activity and you could mix up the scenery that you're in. Just make it automatically rotate thru seb, chardok, hs, hole, KC, etc... doesn't even have to be big like maybe 10 or 15% bonus in that hot zone.

People are so twinked now grouping doesn’t really make sense for many. Mostly solo or duo with another twink friend.

It's a good idea, but we're seeing zones becoming uber packed with an exp bonus currently, so the week it rotates to KC or the Hole will pack those zones to the gills.

The Hole can handle it at least.

I think throwing higher ZEMs into some of the higher level outdoor zones like Skyfire, WW, WL, TT, would be cool.

make kedge 300% exp like back in the day too.


2014-2015ish, kedge was like at least 300%

You could, but no one else will be there, so good luck finding a group.

Amazing dungeon. Did my paladin 30-44 there. Absolute cow level.

Also great for druids to learn how to properly play and charm animals.

Yeah I did my warrior 35-45 there, wasn't even bad doing half of 45 while my druid buddy got his lvl.
Cazics amazing,best zone those lvls.

Change it weekly/monthly and tell no one which zones it is. Give people some incentive to go out and explore like classic

Hotzone isn’t a special event.

I attended a gm event on Brell back in like kunark and got some artifact staff. Wonder if i can find that login info again

A lot of p99 is not classic, no?

Cool idea they are already implementing, just on like a 6-month to 1-year rotation from the feel of it. I have no data to back that up.

"Not Classic" is for when someone suggests something I don't like.

If I do like the suggestion, I link to ancient forum comments from Allakhazam that agree with me.
