Potential fix for Windows 11 crashes

Hi folks,

If you are experiencing issues with Windows 11 and P99 you may want to consider installing this optional update talked about here. (https://www.pcgamer.com/the-latest-windows-11-update-fixes-game-crash-woes-for-some-users/)

I can’t be certain it will fix the issues, but if you are one of the users with Windows 11 and nothing else is working, perhaps give this a try and let us know?

Tried this,along with dgvoodoo2, compatibility mode and run as admin but still get the error about instruction at 0000cececece refrerenced memory at 0000cececece.

SOmetimes I can go an hour or so, sometimes just a few minutes - usually I can drag the error off-screen and play in Windowed mode until I zone or log to char select when it just dies.

Are you using anything to run in windowed mode? Such as Borderless Gaming or WinEQ2?

No, just standard full screen from the in-game options, alt-tab to Windows when i need to, alt-tab back and alt-enter back to full screen.

I’m not sure if this will resolve the issue, but I recommend trying to download Borderless Gaming to attempt to alleviate that issue.

Borderless Gaming - the link on the github page now takes you to Steam to download it, and of course there's a small charge.

Works OK under Windows 11, but still get the error occaisonally - however once the error occurs I can drag it out of the way and still play full-screen so that's an improvement.

If you look below the Steam link in the "Assets" section you can just download the setup file:

That's what you can do without installing anything, so I don't see it as an improvement :)

i use wineq2 and borderless gaming, this has almost completely cleared up the instruction error , it rartely happens to me now.
