So with one episode left, I have mixed feelings. It's nice to see Obi Wan and Darth Vader back at it again (and they have Vader as a legit badass), but I can't shake this feeling of being slightly let down. I am not even really sure what it is, but the show reeks of being mediocre. It's very possible I had way too high of expectations but Obi Wan is not nearly as good as Mandalorian in my opinion. Maybe I am being too critical but I thought I would reach out to my fellow nerds and see what everyone's opinion is.

i mean i guess star wars can't really lean into the brutality and terror a real kid would display in that situation, but a better set of writers could have come up with a workaround altogether

Uncle Owen's sick burn is the highlight of the show so far.

Vader being a badass in ep. 5 was good, too. In the original trilogy he wasn't really that scary. Luke lost on Cloud City, but put up a good fight after only like 30 minutes of training with Obi-Wan and 2 days with Yoda. This episode really demonstrated why he was feared.

Besides that, pretty disappointed.

I'd be down for an Uncle Owen series where we just watch him doing Uncle Owen things.

Last night my power was out for 4 hours. So reality sucked.. But man I was in VR for over an hour last night. Drumming (Smash Drums). Ping Pong. Blastin monks/ghosts/demons with crazy arrows (Death Unchained). No shortage of shit to do in VR, and games can be pretty dang cheap and unique..

Quest 2 is still the device i suggest, because it's just so damn portable. And with so many people never having experienced VR, half of my joy is just showing other people now.

I hated RPGs but only like them now due to my best friend (RIP) and his Everquest game. Gaming on computers for me has been mostly dead since 2007. It's technically ignorant today and not marketed to guys anymore. You can tell when hardware stops being talked about.

Edit: I really despise those fat-bastards in this industry who went on and on about "Hardware Maturity" back in the day, in enthusiast magazines. When this hobby finally matured it, in my view, died.

I doubt this will be the last. Anything with Vader in it is gonna be a cash cow for Disney. Disney doesn't care about the integrity of the story, just that sweet, sweet $$$. So, I fully expect there will be more to come.

But... rogue one is as good as empire, but made with modern technical mastrey... and modern movies are just insanely technically good (when they can be) that that just makes rogue one better, only because of our ability to progres over time, not that it's a better movie.

I don't think there are any great Star Wars films, including the original trilogy. I wouldn't consider any of the films that I truly enjoy to be of Citizen Kane quality.

He was hands down one of the things that got me through watching season 2 of Discovery, that and I'm a sucker for mirror universe stuff. And had high hopes for New Worlds, when I heard it was him as the captain.
