Why are the forums so slow to load?

brand new HPE Gen10 server which is currently dedicated to hosting our production game databases and the Green server. That server is solid and will last us for some time.

Other than that server, however, we are running on a hodgepodge of used hardware consisting of Cisco UCS M3 and Dell R710. While Green and Blue run on physical hardware (Green on the HPE Gen10, Blue on a Cisco UCS M3 C220), the rest of the servers are in a VMWare Cluster. This includes virtual machines running Red Game Server, P99 Website, EQEmu Website, EQEmu Loginserver, Wiki Website, Replication Databases, Backup Jobs, and our Backend system (Used for logs and CSR Tools

It used to be forum timestamps were wildly inaccurate, whatever they changed to fix that might be related to the slowness now.

Rogean recently made a post about looking for hardware donations. May be related to aging server.

I load slow as shit too, but the only time I look at these forums is on an old-ass laptop at work that does everything slow, so not sure if its the laptop or the forums itself.

Seems to be loading just as fast as any other website for me, and I'm currently typing this from an old winxp machine.

That's just browsing though; I *have* noticed that sometimes when I type out one of my great posts that I do, it takes a long time to actually post or it says I have to wait 15 seconds to post again, even though I only posted once.

yea it usually has to do with posting.. I bet that means uploading is slow?

edit: but sometimes its fast, like this post was instant.

theres definitely some bug slowing things down, like this one:

ill type a post, hit post reply, and then the site hangs with the browser spinny loading logo, then the p99 forum redirects me to a page that says you can't post more than once within 30 seconds, and when i refresh, it takes me back to page 1 of that thread.

so my browser is sending the info to the server, the server replies, "woah wtf dude im tryin to get other shit done, not dealing with your packets atm" a few miliseconds later my broswer tries again which the server recognizes as a double post attempt.

Im no IT guy, but i bet any money thats whats going on, like rogean said, anything that isn't green server is running on an older server which is cut up into virtual machines and stretched for resources.

Upgrayyded to windows 11 and I seen this yellow thing on my chrome saying I am waiting on google analytics or somesuch so that is probably why in my case.
