Monk weapon question

Hello blue,

I was curious about the when and what of monk weapons..

as in..
I duel wield until 20 if i recall?
And after 20, i would switch to a 2h? I would be normally soloing, but will be ready to group if needed. If anyone can refresh me on how monk weapons and bonuses work, i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!!

Level both 1h and 2h up in skills.

It's not level specific issue, it's just until lvl 20 you are damage capped at 20 per hit no matter what. So a heavy 2h will hit for 20 max, hence wasted. You need both skills.

When you fight things that have for example Damage Shields, you are better off using 2h so you hit harder but less often, and don't kill yourself. Otherwise with good dual wield you'll be smashing things well with 1H.

Realistically you can go your entire career never having a 2h and be fine. I played to 60 on Monk in the past never touching a 2h weapon, couldn't get one (was broke). Had a wu stave and a knuckle duster. But I avoided anything that had a damage shield. At some point my fists were better, dont remember when, it was long ago.

when does 100 dmg cap go away? i remember years ago i hit for way above 100 at some point, but its a fuzzy memory

I leveled a monk on blue years ago using an IFS. Was definitely hitting for over 100 in the 40s, but it's been so long now, I don't remember what level I was when I did it first.

Thats weapon damage cap, so if theoretically a 150 dmg 150 delay 2 hander existed, it would actually be 100/150 on p99. But no such weapon exists in this timeline so that cap is irrelevant.

The cap is on the weapon’s DMG value, not the total the hit does.

So according to this chart, should i use my Wu's quivering staff at 20-30 then switch to my IFS at 30+ ??

Correct. Wu's is better from 1-30 than both IFS and PB. When you hit 30 switch
