Question Regarding Naming Character(s) (After Reading Rules, etc.)

Hello,

What would happen to a character's name if/when the Green server is transferred to the Blue server if the character has the same name as a character on the Blue server on the same account?

If I delete the character with the same name on the Blue server will that essentially save or reserve the name for the character on the Green server when Green is transferred to Blue?

The truth is no one knows for certain exactly how this will be handled because the staff have not disclosed their plans regarding names and the merge. Any other response is speculation.

i suspect they willl had something like x to the end of the name and will need to petition to change it.

You couldnt have the same name on Green and Teal so when they merged there was no name conflicts

Good to know, interesting they allowed this between blue and green when their original plan (though now walked back) was to merge the two

they allowed name camping on blue, where you would hold your own name on blue to make it for green if I remember right.

It's easy to add an X which is the trad method. Don't worry the merge will happen.

So in other words if I delete the character(s) on blue with the same name(s) as the character(s) on green, then the names will still be reserved/held on blue until the merge happens? For example, no one can make character(s) on blue with the same name(s) as my character(s) on green?

Why delete it? Why not just leave it there until merge?
Unless you're trying to make room for another character.
I wouldn't mess around with deleting things unless you have to.

I think there is more to it than that. I have characters on blue, and when I tried to make characters on green with the same names as on blue I got the message that the names were already in use by someone else. So my blue names were not saved for me to use on green.

That's correct in theory.

I wouldn't depend on it. Something happened to the DB when Green/Teal merged and some people have been complaining about incidents where they can't remake a character after deleting it even though they definitely had the name on green and have that name on blue.
