While we're on the subject, I noticed last night that the 4th level Enc pet also consume two tiny daggers rather than one.

I too was about to complain about this, until I notived that it was resolved in another thread. Sorry guys, it apparently IS classic :(

And enc pets cycle through a pattern of increasing and resetting amounts of tiny daggers.
