Yeah the problem with that plan is people usually have to show empathy before receiving it, basically.

I always cook fryer chickens and the like in a rotisserie cooker. Don't think I've tried it out of a cast iron pot before. Assuming you've had both, how would you compare the relative advantages and disadvantages of each?

You get the crispiness of the skin out of the rotisserie better, I think. I also admit I screwed up the browning step, maybe that's more possible in the dutch oven had I not screwed it up. Kind of a rookie with the thing, and I've never used the little spinny rotisserie thing on my grill. Or owned some kind of separate rotisserie cooker, if it's a separate device.

I bought a dutch oven originally because it's versatile. I've mainly used it to make bread, stews, pork chunks... still working on learning some other stuff. I did intend to use it when I went camping this fall, but that's not gonna happen now.

Panko is a much better friend to the air fryer than flour. Latter sticks like hell, but the foil sling worked well.

Give it a try! You can eat the onions themselves as snacks for a day or two, I separate them from the oil though. I give the oil a week, I think I read somewhere that was the shelf life. Not really sure if oil actually expires, but for reasons I am no longer permitted to explain, I have to be paranoid about spoiled foods.
