Hey all,

This is my magelo profile: https://wiki.project1999.com/Magelo_Blue:Gurgle

Besides Black Fur Boots, I’m struggling switching from melee to caster mindset. What do I focus on? HPs, AC, mana, Wis? I know for next 5ish lvls it won’t matter at all with JBB.

Is my gear good enough that I just save for Torpor on the way to 60 and ignore gear improvements? (minus maybe buying a fungi and then selling for torpor at 60)

Just looking for suggestions. If there’s any relatively Cheap gear you think I should replace let me know. I do have like 0pp right now after buying my JBB, but I’ll make more.

You are in a pretty good spot right now since you have JBB, Fungi Staff, Ceremonial Iksar Chestplate, GCD Earring, and you are working on Black Fur Boots. Honestly you can get to 60 with this. As you already mentioned, you can buy a fungi along the way and resell it at 60. You also need to save up for spells, so it isn't too necessary to upgrade your gear much more.

Here are some suggestions if/when you get a chance:

Legs - Around your level (wait until you can use JBB) you can do https://wiki.project1999.com/Kromrif_Military_Leggings quest, which is fun and not too hard. I used those for a while on my Shaman.

Wrist - Same quest line as the legs roughly can also get you this https://wiki.project1999.com/Coldain_Military_Wristguard . Since you are an Ogre you should be doubious to the giants if you havent been killing them. You could also do https://wiki.project1999.com/Bracer_of_Hammerfal if you have skyshrine faction.

arms - Cheapest upgrade would be https://wiki.project1999.com/Giant_Scalemail_Sleeves . Otherwise these are good: https://wiki.project1999.com/Crystal_Chitin_Armplates or https://wiki.project1999.com/Rune_Crafter%27s_Vambraces or https://wiki.project1999.com/Gladiator%27s_Chain_Sleeves

Belt - If you keep up your giant faction you can do this quest at later levels, probably high 50s https://wiki.project1999.com/Girdle_of_Reflection . Otherwise https://wiki.project1999.com/Spider_Fur_Belt

Gloves - https://wiki.project1999.com/Coldain_Skin_Gloves . You won't need haste once you get JBB.

Range - https://wiki.project1999.com/Idol_of_the_Thorned . If you have skyshrine faction you can try your luck for https://wiki.project1999.com/Talisman_of_Benevolence , but it can be a pain to get to west wastes over and over if you play this toon as a main.

The fungi staff and regen bp alone could carry you to jbb level I wager, the rest could be banded armor.

Pretty sure I ran by you in OT yesterday, get you a zone with a better exp mod!

Thanks Shamwow, I was hoping for your advice! Those all sound like great places to look for upgrades. For the Kromrif Legs and coldain wristgaurds, since they require some faciton hits while doing them, should i do one or the other first if i want to go for both? I havent killed anything in Velious. I suppose i could do one and faction a bit and do the other.

i’ll prolly wait till much later to do scout roll since this is my main.

Hey Tann, yeah that was me lol. I wanted to get the OT hammer free while it still gave exp and before i ruined the faction even further. I didnt realize id be here for 1.5 lvls doing it though lol. 10 more zerkers and im outta here.

No problem:) Its been ages since I did the kromrif legs quest, and by the time I found out about the wrist quest, I didnt need it sadly.

You probably need to do a bit of research/experimentation. Reading the pages it sounds like you can do both with starting faction (dwarfs apprehensive and giants doubious) but I don't know for certain.

Try using the https://wiki.project1999.com/Bottle_of_Karsin_Acid first to get the gem. If not i think the https://wiki.project1999.com/Sceptre_of_the_Coldain_Ancients should work. I used that last time, the mob is just a bit harder and doesnt always spawn, it has a PH.

Just try to avoid killing giants until you are finished. If you have to pick one go for the legs.

Going to try doing the giant first part of the quest as they don’t appear to give a faction hit. And then I’ll go get the harness from a wolf for the first part of the coldain version.

Then with both items I’ll do the killing and faction hits. From the wyrm turn in.

Thanks!!

No problem! Just be aware the Broodmother does have a somewhat long respawn time (I think 24 hours?). So you will need to wait between turn ins, and dont be alarmed if broodmother isn't up when you check. Just try again later.

And I agree, it looks like giant quest is better to do first. It is nice the quest says you don't need to kill the coldain wolfs any more.

Looks like the mob you need to kill for wrist is harder than the legging giant though, so you may need to be 50. Not sure. I am pretty sure I did leggings in my high 40s.

I think I’m going to go burn through 45-50 and then start these quests, I’m sure my guild isn’t completely dwarf faction and might be able to help burn the dwarf down. :)

Otherwise, it’s just one hit, so they may not mind.

Good idea. Yeah one hit shouldn't tank your faction, he isn't a special city leader or anything. Getting help would certainly be safer.
