Zone Experience Modifiers
In a previous update, many pre-Kunark ZEMs were modified. Now that we've had a chance to see the effects, these changes are an attempt at further normalizing experience rates. Specifically, Kunark, Velious and dungeon zones. While some zones are receiving a decrease, most will be receiving an increase. These are subject to change and will be reevaluated if needed.

Confused about this one! Are there mobs there now?

So the thing about the peggy cloak nerf and really just the ability to levitate in general that applies to Red 99. Without the ability to levitate in PvP with the current z axis settings you are a sitting duck as a non caster against a levitated caster and cannot retaliate except for ranged weapons.

The Z axis for player hit boxes in pvp is NOT like live. You cannot hit a player from ground level if they are levitating way above you like you could on live. Almost no one had a pegasus cloak on Live pvp servers. As a melee without levitate fighting a levitating caster, you had to stand underneath them directly to melee them regardless of the z axis distance.

Yes, most of us on red have pegasus cloaks already but this Z axis player hit box issue needs to be fixed. This is only going to hurt new players that come to red. Yes people do play on Red and yes new players do join the server regularly.

Tldr; Nerf quillmane but please fix player Z axis hit box range!!

Considering the Velious textures can't even be turned on manually using the .ini file (like how we did it in 2001), I think we can safely guess it's an unintentional snafu of the sort that creeps in from time to time.

THe pathing of the spawning mobs seems to be the same however instead of just poping Lionesses and elephant Caaf's there seem to be more variety of mobs. I was not able to pop quill as fast as I usually do, but the events seemed to progress as normal.

I keep getting the, "Spells_us.txt(731221104) for new installations" error after I installed EQ to my new computer today. I have downloaded the current patch and re-wrote all the files as well as just replacing the spell file and it still has this when I enter the EQ realm.

This spreadsheet seems off, for example, you list on it, The Hole at 185 for the ZEM.

The wiki, based on the March 2020 ZEM change as having the Hole ZEM at 150 (was thought to be 100 prior to that 50% increase), if it was recently changed to -15% of the previous value, then shouldn't it be like 128 on this list?

Can we get this hotfixed in, by chance? It's pretty important. It's probably the only breaking bug we had; pretty surprised it has such low priority for some reason.

Since the upgrade my meditate button suddenly came back. I haven't parsed it, but it seems like I don't get mana back as fast without clicking it (lvl 40 druid).

Additionally, I used to have the blue bubbles under the yellow on my XP bar but since I downloaded the patch that has gone away too. In fact, I no longer have transparent bag windows either.

Am I now functioning as expected? I only started a few months ago (this was my first patch). Prior to this I had a pure Titanium install with the V54 files copied over.

Aside from the bottom 4 hotkeys still bugged, I think the Kurns debuff was rough since it's really the *only* spot for lowbies to hunt around that spot. It's not just that it's good exp, that's really the only choice for a lowbie dungeon.

There are literally 4 newbie zones, one of which including a newbie dungeon, surrounding cabilis...

Explore a little as there are plenty of areas with mobs to take you 10-20 near cabilis that are not kurns.

I agree the nerf is inconvenient though.

Kurn's never had more than a ZEM of 85 in classic times. It didn't get its huge ZEM buff until post-Luclin. I know we aren't using classic ZEMs here but in the classic context this is just returning it more to where it always was.

ok, as a 41 druid my primary DOT spells are nonfunctional. Imolate and Drones of Doom do no damage. I can no longer root-rot, I am required to root-nuke. Which isn't a huge difference for me, as I don't normally like to solo, but right now I'm trying to get some solo (mostly afk) work done in game and this is horribly frustrating.

Is there a download I need to correct this issue? Or is this a server side fix that needs to be implemented?

Honestly afk root nuke is the best(I’m a 54 Druid on green). I have almost exclusively soloed by root nuking while afk because instead of afk during a dot, you afk while you meditate after the nuke, and the kills are faster so less paying attention, reapplying dots/roots, etc. additionally if you spec evoke like I did, your set up for some fat quad kiting.

and why up the ZEM for planes? that makes no sense at all! no one goes to to the planes to exp!

Those ZEMs were too high and personally I was sick of Hole. I'm glad things are more spread out.

I either did camps with +wis gear(this was classic pre velious/kunark), and followed the p99 wiki guides for making plat while leveling mostly.

I think by mid/late 30s i was quadding specs in oot.

Hello, all!

I installed Project 1999 and the latest patch from the Home Page (P99Files55.zip). When logged in to the Server, I receive and error stating, "Your spells file is outdated."

Is this something the P99 admins and devs are aware of? Or do I look to other reasons, such as bad installation media?

Possibly relevant information:

I run Linux (Fedora 34, and am using the latest Wine Staging (v7.3) from the WineHQ repo. Setting up the Wine Bottle and installing the required dlls takes no more than 10 minutes. Another 5 minutes at most to install EQ Titanium. There are never any errors during installation.

The architecture is set to Windows 7, 32-bit. I have also installed the following dlls in the bottle (additional supporting dlls installed by Wine):

mfc90
quartz
vcrun2010

Moreover, I have set the sound device in the Wine Bottle to use Pulse Audio, and have backed this up with fluidsynth. Sound works perfectly.

Plane of Fear is one of the best places to exp for a Necro, Druid, Enchanter, along with a partner. It can be tricky getting to the north wall, but once you're there, it's great. Having fear is handy, so Dru+Nec works well, charmed Shiverback and Irak Altil utterly obliterate enemies, the necro can just pull in mobs and fear and immediately go out for another pull.

you should be quad kiting as a druid

root rotting is more better in higher levels if you have your epic

it's mostly for indoor farming :P

They care, and it's already fixed pending the next update. They just don't do hot fixes, it's all done in batches just like reimbursements, IP exemptions, bans, etc..
