Are you supposed to petition in game to get a last name modified like Macmannis changed to Mac'Mannis?

You're just supposed to petition for the latter. Not sure you should do it first. I never did.

I've always gotten my apostrophe after a few days.

You probably need to catch a guide while they're ghosting a raid or something.

If it's like 3am for 30 minutes in the morning you may be out of luck.

[3:36 PM] Ambrogio: Greetings! We have had quite a few petitions with missing information that have delayed initial investigations. Following are a few tips that can help us, help you. 🙂

Please ensure to include the following information with all forum petitions: server, account name, and character name.

Speaking of petitions; there are two different methods used to submit petitions, in-game and on the forums.

Some requests we handle exclusively IN GAME with /petition.

In-Game Only: Name changes (PnP Violations), Surnames, Stuck players, Corpse Summons, Guild Creations, and Camp Disputes.

Surname: We will only add a ` in a surname if it is elvish themed. We will not give you a name that has been rejected. You must be on that toon for us to make this change, so do not get discouraged if we don't respond quickly. If you find yourself with an _ in your surname, you have lost the ability to have a surname due to abuse.

Corpse Summons: For us to summon your corpse it must have rotted. We will only summon geared corpses. It's best if you're offline, but not required. NOTE: We can't reimburse items that rotted on a mob corpse.

Green and random times...likely mid day and evening...I did not understand that you needed to be online for them to do it.

Thanks, do not have access to that info in discord and did not know about the corpse summoning thing...thought corpse summoning was for poofed recent ones only...

Yep. You probably can still get it. Maybe. Idk though. It's not elvish. Totally at their discretion.
