Dark Elf Innurok Cleric...

Recently got my cleric high enough to move on to the Hole but while I was perusing Swish's guide (https://wiki.project1999.com/Swish%27s_1-50_Cleric_SOLO_guide), there's a section at the bottom that states:

Dark elf Innoruuk clerics cannot get a key for Paineel - seems ridiculous!

Is that true and if so, does that include with the use of some illusion like ball of golem clay? Or is my only way in by relying on someone else with a key or jumping in the big hole?

I can't tell you what a Dark Elf Cleric can or can't obtain, being as I don't have one, but note that the Paineel city key (Bone Crafted Key) and the Hole key are different keys which require different faction levels. Paineel key is obtained by talking to the guards and requires amiable, while the Hole key is bought off a merchant at apprehensive or better. The quote seems to refer specifically to the Paineel city key, so the Hole key's availability seems up in the air.

A player can also shrink to a very small size and wiggle through the locked rocks blocking the Hole zone-in, or at least could the last time I did so several years ago.

Ahhh, good point. I completely missed that. I guess I would just need someone to click me up the elevator and then I could buy the Hole key with an illusion or something to get the necessary faction. I guess if I'm unable to get the Paineel key, it helps to learn this now before trying to massacre the Warrens for hours on end.

Well that wiki was incorrect. I got a lift into Paineel and used the ball of golem clay. Guards were still KOS. I IVU'd to the Hole Key vendor and still dubious.

So I went into Warrens and farmed reputation for a bit today. Kept checking faction against the guards and it was going up. Got amiable to the guards and was able to get the Paineel key.
