New to P99

Hello, new player to the server. Have not played EQ since Planes of Power days. Started a High Elf chanter on green server. Are there any guilds that are recruiting new players who are leveling up and looking for that sense of community again?

Castle folks that I have grouped with have been friendly. As a new player dipping your toes in the water again, you could do a lot worse.

if you are new to p99 i would suggest you not waste time on the green server and start out on blue.

currently there is a targeting bug where you need to keep esc out and retargeting the mob, also your spells and abilities will not land on mobs.

I haven’t noticed this targeting thing. If you are ever having trouble targeting something and are a fast typer, simply type /tar [mob name], you don’t need the full name, just the first 2-3 letters. Or else there is a hotkey to target the nearest mob that still works on green. I forget what the default is but I re-bound it to tab


The only advice I personally would offer wouldn’t be on your server but how you spend your pp. There is a lot of enchanter hate from players, and the devs have never been satisfied with enchanters on P99. They plan to nerf them to where charisma has no effect on charm. This means that charisma will only matter when lulling or mem-blurring a mob, something that will likely take up less than 1% of your total playtime. This means charisma will be a worthless stat to wear full time, but will be helpful to have a set of +cha gear in a bag

Don’t spend a lot of pp on cha gear before the nerf, you might be semi-wasting it. Expect the price of cha gear wearable by enchanters to plummet soon
