I use duel monitors when I EQ, i'm sure a lot of people do as well. Is there a way to make one monitor full-screen for everquest while I can use the other monitor for other purpose simultaneously (i.e. surfing the web, watching movies, etc.) Everytime I try to fullscreen EQ, the other screen just goes black and I was wondering if it's possible to bypass this. thank you

What OS?
Are you playing in windowed mode?
Are you using windows, your vid card software, or a 3rd party program to control your dual monitor settings?

I was only ever to get this to work by using windowed mode and more specifically using WinEQ2.0 windowed fullscreen mode and adjusting the frame on my primary monitor where I wanted it.

EQ takes up DirectDraw when in full screen mode so it's normal you get a black screen (It was coded for people to have one monitor, people looked at you funny when you said dual monitors back then)

People look at you even more funny when you say your monitor is for fighting someone one on one.

I tried forever to get one screen fullscreen for EQ and the other for surfing/etc but I could never get it to work right.

I ended up just playing EQ in windowed mode and rescaling it to almost take up the entire monitor. For some reason EQ in fullscreen never allowed me to move my mouse from my monitor with the game on it to the other monitor. Probably because EQ is so old it never supported dual monitor technology.

I play on a 42" LG 1080P HDTV via HDMI, and my second LCD is a 24" Dell Ultrasharp, which I use for browsing, music, system/video card monitoring (Windows 7 gadgets). I run Windows 7 Ultimate 64. I also run SLI. It took a bit of tweaking but here is how I got it to work.

First, SLI doesn't support more than 2 monitors (I had 3 originally). I had to disconnect the third one. Second, I had to put the LG (primary) on the top card, and the Dell (secondary) on the bottom card. When they were plugged into the same card, it did not work. Third, I had to roll back my drivers about 4 versions, one at a time and using Driver Cleaner, until I found one that worked. When I get home I'll post up the Nvidia version I'm using.

The only annoyance I have is that when I click on anything on the secondary LCD (I can move my mouse between the two without issue), it minimizes the game. If I click back on the game it comes back in windowed mode and I have to use the Full Screen Fix program to fix it. It really isn't too big pain since it's a simple 2 clicks.

Nvidia 260.99 (8.17.12.6099). Give that a whirl.

I know this isn't going to answer your particular issue but I'll mention it in case it helps someone else. I have a MacBook Pro and run dual monitors on it at times. I use a program called Parallels and it allows me to run a virtualized Windows computer inside of my Mac operating system. With this configuration, I have been able to run fullscreen EQ on one display and normal Mac OS in the other. The virtualization software from Parallels handles the mouse transition from the windows display to the Mac OS seamlessly. I can browse the web, use applications etc in the Mac environment and play EQ in the other. Unfortunately I am not aware of how to do this in Windows.

You can't really run directx in full screen with dual monitor support.

The best you can get is to go into your eqclient.ini and turn on windowed mode. Uncheck always on top for your task bar, and the eq window should stay on top of your primary monitor maximized, allowing you to mouse over to your other monitor to surf the web.
