View Full Version : Spells: Healing not giving me rep?

I remember I was down at Orc 1 in EC yesterday and we were steady pulling orcs. My character is a Dark Elf Cleric so I could really use the reputation. Unfortunatly, the only way to GET the rep was to nuke all the mobs or run around being a battle cleric.
I don't know if its supposed to be like this, but is it possible we can get this changed so healing will 'tag' you for the mobs and give me rep so I can do what my class is designed to do?
I'm tired so this may sound harsh, but... man it just bugs me I have to either play whack-a-orc or burn mana nuking each mob once prior to healing.

Old post but that has happened to me. I also play a DE Cleric (conspiracy?!) and there have been times when even if I hit the mob I don't get a faction message. Same with healing someone who's fighting a mob, and the mob dies... no faction. A few kills later I'll begin getting the faction messages again.
This has been on and off though. It has never happened to me in Kunark. Only Old World (most orcs in EC/HPH and gobbys in Runnyeye)

Very odd. Any screenshots of this happening? I was running through Butcherblock a week ago when I gave a heal and an attack buff to a dwarf pally, who was in a fight with a goblin. When the gobby died, I got my faction adjustment.

It seems to me as far as getting a faction hit from healing someone, there was only a chance the mob would 'notice' this - you wouldn't always get the hit (thought I had seen a dev post this info about live long ago). I agree you definitely should be getting a hit every time you nuke one, however.

I never played a solely healing class. Can anyone comment further on this?

I think you only get faction hits in lguk at liveside? I don't recall ever seeing my faction going down in there. But it's true that if you buff/heal someone who is fighting a mob, then you will get a faction hit. Just like aggro, if you heal someone thats low on hp and they end up dying you will get aggro

I don't know about healing, but on my live bard I would get afk faction hits for just playing a buff song. Imagine it would be the same for healing.

you get a faction hit off every frog basically living frogs get negative faction hit toward live frogs, killing undead frogs gives you positive faction hit toward living frogs

As long as you're on the agro list (eg: healing the tank) you should absolutely get faction hits - I remember this distinctly during classic. I guess its possible it was implemented later but I doubt it.
