I have been watching the Mortal Kombat movies because the new one came out, and I realized I haven't played an MK game in like 20 years.... so I googled some of the e-sports shit for MK on youtube and the current champion is an openly gay man who dresses up like an animal (furry).

Not sure why it surprises me that a mentally ill twenty-something is a video game champion, but it was a bit of an eye-brow raiser nonetheless.

Yeah Sonic Fox is a bit of a heel at times, hes really good at a bunch of fighting games. He's quick to ditch his fur helmet when he gets pressured though.

I do like actors to look like the characters they are playing in movies though...It shows that the people casting didn't really give a crap about the movie in the first place when they start switching things around like that.

Whats happening at the end of this video the chunli player (Justin Wong) just did their super combo, which has enough hits to inflict a KO through chip damage (damage taken after blocking), the Ken player (Daigo) cannot dodge the attack and has two options: take the loss or "parry" the attack.

In SF3 any character can parry an incoming attack by pressing the stick in the foward position towards the attack at the exact frame it hits. Its like the reverse form of blocking but you have to be precise or you will get hit. The reward for a parry is you take no damage and you have no block stun after, (block stun is the amount of recovery after blocking a hit)

Chun-Li's super combo is one of the fastest attacks in the game and Daigo parries every single hit including the last one which requires him to jump inbetween the last two parry inputs. This opens Justin up to be punished and Daigo hits him with a full combo into his own super.

What makes this scenario even more wild is this is the final match of the final set at the biggest SF3 tournament of the year, and the crowd goes nuts. Probably one of professional gaming's biggest and most exciting moments of all time, often referred to as "Daigo Parry" or as the video is titled "Evo moment #37".
