Heya folks,<Salt> is helping new players learn the game and gear and level up over on the red server,Exp is waaaaay faster and more camps are open for a not so crowded feel.Do your epic without bottlenecks, raid some content you dont get to see on green or blue without giving up your whole weekend/soul and hit us up in the global /ooc and ask for an officer
Looking forward to seeing you on red

So I made an iksar and logged into red just now. Geebus, the /ooc is miserable. Rename Red Server to PMS Server.

Ironically for me... the OOC is actually the biggest appeal of Red. When you play on Blue, it's extremely quiet and lonely... on red it feels like there's always someone talking. Makes the game feel less desolate.

i played red and blue for about the same amount of time with some Green launch for good measure. After playing all three servers i would rank red as by far the least toxic of the bunch by far, sure if your the type that looks to be offended in all aspects of your life your probly not cut out for red but if you like groups of close knit friends small manning cool content and doing epics without bottlenecks you may enjoy it. Furthermore it is a pvp server so you will at some point be engaged in pvp weather or not you want to but even with a pvp death the only thing you lose is a few coins if you carry any and a little bit of time doing a CR

I will agree that red is the least toxic. It only seems more toxic because people can kill you. The biggest plus that red has to offer is people are actually used and everyone in the community knows each other. You arent just a body in a 300 person guild, with members that only log in when bosses spawn.

Red /ooc is to fun what Yoko Ono is to music.
To each, his own, Mr. Lennon.

I see people saying that a new red server is needed, so I took that to mean that the server is unplayable in some way. It's exciting to hear if that's not actually the case.
Given the smaller player-base, are there any classes in particular that would better fit into joining folks in on the fun? Or is Red a primarily solo experience?

Red is good the way it is minus the population. I would play it right now but I cant. Unless you have 6 level 60s then there is still stuff to do.
It will be mostly a solo thing though. If the population was higher then maybe not.
If you want to go melee because casters are boring monk would be the best way to go.

I played green for a tiny bit a year ago, but I never kept at it. I'm back and I am down to play on red. I'm a super new Everquest player and I don't remember how to do anything, I just reinstalled today. Gonna make a Ogre Shaman, I will return and post his name soon. :)

*Crosses fingers* Hopefully more people play red. Farm them Iksar berserker clubs, sell them or use them as the new circulation if high levels won't help you. Use monks as melee and level them toons up.
This last part might be discouraging but often times an OP guild is dependent on people losing interest and they will. 3 times I have heard of an unbeatable guild and then they all have disappeared.

Definitly not an OP guild but we have some fun and help each other when we can

everyone plays for their own reasons i play cause i like being able to farm/camp what i want without /list and now i would never go back to non pvp EQ

Like the above I'd say to not /list and deal with RMT pharmers like green and blue, and some people might go for the easier EXP. Other people because even trashed PVP server is better than no PVP. It's hard to look at stupid ass PVE items with no resists the way you used to when you're on a non PVP server.

Worst part about red is that you wont find out how psychotic the server is untill u hit 54 or so.

I think that applies to all P99 servers. Gotta figure the creame of the psychopath crop claws its way to the top in a place like this.
Thats why I think for the next PVP server it should be like the live "Discord" server that resets regularly (minimum RMT opportunities worth doing on permadeath temporary server) OR a vanilla only server. Both options allow a very different less psychotic playstyle than current crop of servers.
Its a post- live problem not a live problem. It's just the playerbase that can't let go of everquest seems to want to "Win" at all costs, which means losing hardest in real life.
On permadeath, winning is temporary.
On vanilla, winning is comparably easy, so it might feel different. But still probably will need to recycle.

Vanilla only teams with an extremely short life span wouldbe best. Super slow xp would help to keep the fights noobish longer like maybe 9+ slows down then getss slower each spell level. Maybe even a little boost pre nine could be something cool. Permadeath would be pretty lame cause it makes every one a super bitch

Permadeath is weird its a special experience not something you want to be doing all the time with the grind that EQ is.
I don't like talking about non classic stuff because of flamers but I think that having level caps that progessively get raised would be the best way to do a PVP server. Keeping people capped at 10 then capped at 15 then capped at 20 would make a lot of fun PVP action and difference classes would be really strong at different points based on gear and level.

Funny, all the players on Green/Blue do the same to make it feel less Desolate for me... Shrug
