View Full Version : Why is a Lamentation better than a Jade Mace?
Worse ratio and fewer classes can use it, yet it costs twice as much - what gives?
I like swords better than maces from an aesthetics viewpoint, but I see no reason to ever buy a Lammy over a Jade Mace. Is the 35 hp or whatever really that big of a deal?

+6 STR/STA and the difference in delay won't matter when you're hasted (worn & spell) unless there's no min delay cap on P99. Also, willing to bet most melee classes aside from monks neglect their 1HB skill.
Min delay? How could there be a min delay and the Mosscovered Twig still be worth 10k+? Am I missing something here?

Another consideration is the rounding post-haste calculation (i.e. http://wiki.project1999.org/index.php/Haste_Guide).
So Lamentation (http://wiki.project1999.org/index.php/Lamentation) and Jade Mace (http://wiki.project1999.org/index.php/Jade_Mace) have the same hasted delay under some cases (for ex., with FBSS+SLTW).

It's just another racket for people to overcharge others.
Let's keep in mind that no SK is gonna use a Lammy, so it's basically Warrior / Ranger only.

Lets not forget looks too. Lammy > jade mace imo.
Also, aren't items status symbols?

Lammy was a status symbol on live. Here, it's a Ranger item, or maybe a low-end Warrior item. I sure don't see many tanks using them - and the price reflects that.
Granted, Jade Mace has crashed faster despite being an overall more useful weapon, and I have no idea why.
The bottom line is that both weapons are vastly inferior to what they were on live, partially due to more players having RMoY/BotBDE, but mostly due to how aggro works on here (vs live). You just can't hold aggro without a proc - seemingly much more so on here than on live.

Jade mace is much, much more common. stats aside, people like rare items.

How rare is Lammy? Jade Mace drops like once every 10 hours on average, and the Captain camp in KC is the camp most likely to be open due to the buggy pathing making it very hard to break in without FD.
Jade Mace cost more on live, at least on my server, and also held its value better because both high-end warriors (pre-epics) and monks wanted it.

Fast weapons aren't as good for aggro here compared to how they were on live, therefore proc-less weapons are almost useless for warriors here that want to hold aggro. I'd have to assume that lammy is priced high because it looks cool and, like others have said, is a status symbol.

Btw delay is caped at 9 on this server

No item that drops two times back to back is "rare".
Status symbol? For lvl 15 ranger twink's.
Greedy powersellers or idiots are selling this item for 8k.
Summary: give it time.

The moss-covered twig buyers are missing a good DPS parser.

Blunt weapons are for clerics and queers. Too bad the low delay thing doesn't get aggro here - Warriors slash what they wanna.

I saw a MCT for 3k in EC the otherday lol. I still thought that was overpriced.

I had an Efreeti Standard to muck about with before Kunark even came out. I parsed it everywhere with multiple characters... warriors, monks, rangers, bards. You know which class can use it the best? Fucking rangers. The best choice out of every melee class was a ranger. 3k for MCT is raping the wallet of anyone buying it unless damage bonuses get tuned to work differently.

Fucking rangers.
What about virgin rangers? :(

I refer you to your very own sig, Yendor... you can't possibly be a virgin. You just might not have lost your virginity in the way you had hoped :/
The moss-covered twig buyers are missing a good DPS parser.
Speaking of that - what can I use to watch dps? Would love to make some comparisons.

GAMParse is the one I see referenced most often - it only parses melee and spell DPS through the logs, meaning other player's DPS may be off because you can't see their spell damage. It parses everything on your character, though.
