Light Sources not producing Light

So, this week has been one problem after another on my end

So, here is how it started: I was on my High Elf who had a torch, it produced light just normally, then I noticed at some point that I didn't have any light from the Torch anymore, I assumed it expired or something so I carried on my way.

Then I noticed that my Fire Beetle Eye on a separate character didn't produce any light either. I checked also with buying a lantern with the same kind of result.

Checked on my Dwarf who has a light-producing helmet, same result as the High Elf and the Human.

So, here are the results on characters that I checked for light:

Paladin, has a Lightstone, no light
High Elf, has a Torch, no light
Monk, had a Fire Beetle Eye, now a Great Lantern, no light from either
Dwarf, has a Miner Cap, no light.

I don't think I've done anything to upset the light production for my characters, other than die a couple of times on my High Elf and buying a new Torch just to see where I was going as night came when looking for my corpse. It all started when I came to the city

Any ideas what may be the problem?

I get this if I switch characters without restarting the client. If I restart the client when I switch characters then all light sources continue to work as normal

I didn't have any light to start with today though. If I started with light, but then logged on another character and have no light, then I would give your method a try.

I'll see if it's the same if I make a new character.

Update: I made a fresh character and got myself a Torch, and it was producing Light as normal.

Logged onto my High Elf and it also worked, checking on other characters also yields to me having Light as normal.

I am confused what happened in the first place that made me have no light produced.
