Yes but it would probably be better for the planet if the deserts were a better place to live.

Radio waves also may be creating another field around the earth that may protect the planet, but that doesn't mean we should not consider lowering radio waves being emitted. That may be an old debate because at this point probably radio waves aren't that bad.
