49 Shaman Pet does not use weapons.

The level 49 Shaman Pet (Frenzied Spirit), does not use weapons. If you give it anything, it still bites and does not proc, like the rest of the shaman pets do.

Interesting. I know dog dog being able to dual weild, and proc the GHL's made shaman about the best solo class for doing bigger stuff after they get torpor and malo. This is definitely one that needs taken a look at.

None of the enchanter pets will dual wield either if you give them weapons. They will also not equip any weapons you give them. I am not sure what you guys can do about this but it would be great if something could be done. Enchanter pets already suck and they suck even more if their bad damage is halved from not being able to dual wield.

If that's true, it seems like an oversight... why would the 44 pet be better

i have looked at this issue serveral times, and have not figured out the problem. Now that i know the server code better, I will give it another go.

Can you reverify this is not working on live? My test server the pet works fine, so I am not sure what the issue is. I thought I tested this before, and I could not get the pet to dual weild. But I tried it early today, and it worked.

Just got 49 and gave frenzied a weapon, sure enough hes still biting.

Are you sure it isn't something with the pet type to do ?
I can't say it 100% but in my mind somethings blurrs about eg. Shamie and BL pets was patched at some point to only use H2H weps, eg the summoned ones mages started getting in PoP. Just a stray thaught.

Not saying EQ ever behaved logical, but it would make some sense ... how would a wolf/Bear hold on to eg. a sword ? :)

Hmmm still broke perhaps, gave him a piercer and 1hslash and he just pierced. Never slashed, possibly still broken? Previous pets would pierce and slash if given variaty. Hes atleast accepting weapons now tho!

Actually Ill have to test it again later. I gave him 2 piercers and went and grabbeed a 1hs rq to give him, which should overwrite one of the piercers and might not have. He may actually dual wield.

OK nm working as intended summoned a new pet gave dagger and mace and is piercing and crushing GJ and thank you!

I can confirm that pets now accept weapons in both of their intended slots.

I think I remember the 49 pet quadding when it had two weapons, or am I mistaken? The 55 pet definitely quadded though. Currently, the 49 pet only doubles.
