Anyone picked up a new hobby since covid lockdowns started?

I found a used surfskate a little while ago and it's been my jam. Nice way to turn off the brain for a little while and even burn a few calories.

I cut up the monkey pod and it pinched the saw blade so hard from the wood changing shape WHILE cutting it. Gotta take it back. =[

Get a scroll saw. At least google it and see what it does. You dont have to move much. You just sit in a chair and cut out pretty pictures from wood. Very satisfying and people buy the shit. Then, you'll have a reason to talk to people and a common interest besides a 20 year old video game we dont even talk about.

I got a VR setup and it's pretty kool. Has kept me from getting toooo out of shape. Other hobby is ordering thousands of clothes and makeups and returning 90% of them. And stonks investing. And sex.

Learn to play Guitar - YouTube has great instructional videos and you can pick up a nice learner guitar for about $100. Start trying to learn songs you like and that it from there.

Nice! Here's the bulk of my current quiver. Also have a classical nylon string that has been getting most of my attention during lockdown. Currently working my way through Asturias by Albeniz and Capricho Arabe by Tarrega. Agree that youtube is an amazing resource.

Got the new wood! no more monkey pod. That shit was wet. He was appalled when he put a hand on a cut piece. He told me he sold a lady a tractor trailer full of the stuff.. from the same batch. I got this stuff called indian rose wood. It smells sweet when you burn it! It looks nice. Dark, wild looking grain.

I picked up one of these acupressure mats I see advertised on facebook last week. Was like 20 bucks. Been interesting so far. The first couple days it hurt like hell but now after a few minutes the initial pain goes away and is replaced by relaxing warmth. Spent over an hour on it yesterday listening to an audiobook (started the stormlight series). Very meditative. Would recommend.
