Thanks to those who keep the server open. Wife and I both had been wanting to play classic EQ for years but we've never been able to get our hands on the EQ Titanium CD's. Luckily, I found some!

Now we're trying to decide what characters we should play once we get the approval for the IP exception! We need some suggestions on races/classes. Also a city a noob can get the hang of lol!

Again, thanks for keeping the classic spirit going!

I came back a little over a month ago. My kid and I are going to play, if my IP exemption ever gets approved. I was thinking a Shaman for me, since I've played off and on for years, and a mage for him since he's never played anything like Everquest.

They approve IP Exceptions pretty fast generally.

Don't box you will get banned even if you post about it in a thread like this. It ain't worth trying to get ahead in a 20 year old elf game. Just play the game.

You CAN box on two servers though if you want to double down and play a barely alive character on a server you aren't really active in, during your down time.

When you run a duo you can have a great time with so many classes.

I think a necro + a druid is a really fun duo.

Shaman + Monk Shaman + Warrior Shaman + SK , Pally + Ranger even works.

So many good duos. Take your pick of your favorite classes. If one of your team has strong class preference the other should choose class based on the others preference. So many good choices.

To add to what Gustoo said, the IP exceptions tend to be done in batches so there will be lulls then bam, everyone waiting gets shoved through. Though I would imagine the staff is going to be a little slower right now with the holidays.

Necro + Enchanter was a lot of fun back on live as well and I highly recommend it.

I suggest playing with 1 account at a time for a while and getting going, get both toons up to level 5 or whatever and figure stuff out together. Get controls set up, ETC.

Before the exception. Then you are ready to rock when it comes time to team up.

Great idea because getting 2 chars to level 5 will take months...

If you're playing on green, look for Oddrel to be on bumming around and toss me a tell. I'll port you around to be in your preferred location and get you bound.

Every time I have put in for an IP exception it comes through in a matter of days.

But uhh yeah if it takes that long they can continue to level instead of wait around the forums. Go figure

That's great for you but you can go through the countless exemption threads and see most people have to wait multiple weeks or months.

Like I said man, even more reason for them to start playing now rather than wait around for the exception.

Play on cell phone hot spot to get started sirs.

Shaman and Monk is a good combo. You have the powerful slow spell along with haste and heals playing with a tanky high damage melee character.

Magician and any other caster. If you pair a melee character with the magician the melee will be tanking instead of the pet. A healer like a Shaman or Cleric would be a good addition to the magician. Both can root and heal but the shaman later on can add a decent pet of his/her own to the mix.

Enchanter and Cleric or Druid. The two fastest to 60 were a Cleric and Enchanter playing together. Powerful combo.
