Necro or Cleric?

Necro is fast solo
Cleric is slow solo

Both can solo but cleric needs to med after using basically 100% of mana to kill a single mob.

Both are fine in groups.

Necro can really kill monsters more efficiently.

What do you want to do more?

If you expect to play for shorter bursts and not neccesarily get a good dungeon team going, I would go necro and be more productive during your play time.

These are my favorite classes in the game, maybe.

A group of 6 necros or clerics would be awesome either way, do you want to group more? Do you want to be able to heal melee players and keep them alive and grinding eternally? Go cleric.

DO u want to go down into the frenzy room by yourself and get a shiny fbss to put on your cleric? Go necro.

Necros are actually awesome for grps and doing stuff with other ppl, and I prefer to grp with necros over shamans and enchanters or druids on my cleric.

Necros are amazingly self sufficient- while still being great (if not under appreciated) contributors to groups.
Clerics CAN solo... but much more down/med time between, and not greater than blue con mobs.

Necros are great for when your playing time is limited and/or sporadic. You can log on, play for awhile, soloing mobs wherever is open and log when your time availability is up.
Clerics are great for groups, but again- depending upon the amount of time you are able to commit, might take awhile to get a good exp grinding group rolling and then if time is up... you gotta log and that can bum out the entire group, if no replacement is readily available. That is up to you and your level of communication, and comfort in that kind of scenario.

Having played both, and never gotten to neckbeard/endgame levels, I can say that on the journey through the low/mid levels, Clerics get more random assistance from other peeps. (ie- free hand me down gear, deals on wis jewelry, consideration on nearby no drop stuff, etc.) I can't say I've ever been shunned on my Necro, but most folks know they are pretty self sufficient and can farm whatever they need for themselves... because they can! mmmuuuahahahaha

Those are my top two classes by far, and I enjoy splitting time between the two. Either way, you can't go wrong; really just determined by the amount of time you can commit to play each session, but primarily- your own personal preference. Play what you have the most fun playing!!!

needs some charisma and ac gear tho, they get smacked around pretty hard when charm breaks, obviosly enchanters can go after easy open world low con prey just like the rest of us, but thats not what being an enchanter is all about

necros pretty much can do the hardest stuff with just some hp rings and like 3 spells.

necro is a very fun soloer but also great in groups

which is awesome if you ever get stuck finding a group

clerics are OK at solo but it has to be undead

and of course, they are heavily desired in groups and you can make a decent plat

Clerics are wizards against the undead. That includes the wizard style down time as well without being able to quad like a wizard but as a grouper you're extremely wanted.

Necro's are the opposite and shine the brightest while solo with many different styles of fighting. Any class that can manipulate health and mana levels are going to be extremely efficient and fun.

Both can survive in a dungeon. Necro's with feign death and clerics can lull, root and wipe away agro.

if u twink ur cleric with ur necro u will have two characters for the price of 1, clerics are pretty easy to level with about 10k of stuff

You will be glad you can farm stuff with the necro. And summon corpses for your cleric to rez.

AFK camping that jboots cost me that screen shot, but it was the best thing I could farm and I used all of the proceeds for my manabone, so no regrets. I wish more red99 players had forum account names that make it easier to know who they are in game though.

Just think Kimm how long ago that was, even then it was really uncommon for me to encounter anyone that wanted to PVP when I chilled on that mountain for many hours while doing other stuffs.

It's been a long flatline.
