I've got a 60 necro, and was curious about leveling a friend with it. He's got a 36 monk. I googled a bit and saw that if you dot a mob, have the other person hit it, then feign before it dies, he will get all the exp even if your dot finishes it off.

This thread was from 2012 though, is this still true?

What about pet damage, if pet kills it while I'm feigned, does the other person still get the exp?

Finally, anyone have any experience doing this, and got some suggestions for good places to go? I was thinking around his level, maybe doing CT or Splitpaw. Would appreciate any other ideas, thanks!

Yep that'll do it. As long as the guy hits it once and the FD is a success you're good to go :)

Not sure on pet damage but I'd try once to be sure. At a guess it's part of your damage same as the dots so it should be fine.

I'd recommend definitely old world. CT has healer mobs in the area you probably want to be so I'd avoid there.

Mistmoore is less camped these days so maybe castle entrance/courtyard there if not Splitpaw.

If he needs gear you could do worse than trying to farm a Hooded Black Cloak (https://wiki.project1999.com/Hooded_Black_Cloak) while you're in MM (2.5 WT though) or a FBSS in Lower Guk - try and get the best of both :)

Go to Kaesora. Charm mob, have him beat up mob to 5%, break and let your friend finish him off. Then recharm or let your friend finish your pet. I would just camp the church area by Xalgoz and you can get fangs for Hs key down there.

Does hunting in Kaseonra ruin your OT outpost faction?

Yes. But OT faction is worthless. Can still get OT hammer and bank kos. Plus all merchants in Ot are greedy merchants.

It's a lot more tedious to power level as a necromancer but certainly do-able. Pet damage is treated just like any other damage you would do to a mob, no difference. Basically, when you FD it takes away all the damage you have done to the mob (in regards to who will get XP) unless you pop back up. So if your dot kills the mob but the monk has only done 2 points of damage or something stupid, he will not get XP. But if he is attacking with you the entire time and then you FD at 4% mob health he will have far more damage than what the final tick of the DoT does after you FD.

Your best bet is going to be shit that your pet can mow down and you take mobs to like 10% then let him finish the job and you heal with your life transfers.

Mistmore castle or Cazic Thule would be an excellent place to PL him from 36-early 40s. At 46 he can get XP with you in a group so you can just charm regularly and PL him that way

You will have to kill pet each mob, even if you fd pet will steal exp. Just dmg shield, charm and break charm.

Many years ago I power leveled a cleric from 34 to 51 in two days with my necro in kedge keep. Was two boxing at the time but its easy to do. Cleric hits mob one time then splurt or soul well(if you have VP gear) and then root and FD. Repeat
