Ok someone just posted in discord that someone finally got around to explaining WHY red keeps getting the shaft every time changes are made to blue (like NToV mobs being rooted). For an entire year we've been left twisting in the wind wondering if we were being experimented on by people that were deliberately and sadistically cruel. Now, we finally come to understand this may not be the case. Red may not being a large community but we do have some resources, which leaves me asking the question...

What do you NEED? I can't believe that your trapped under a global blanket of simply putting a "donation" button up. Can't you say how many man hours of work it is? What skill set is needed? What hardware / software would be useful?

I realise the emulator server scene is a lawless, nasty place that breeds paranoia, but keeping quiet also makes it harder for those that might genuinely care to be more proactive.

Server is fine, I havnt had any issues ingame since I started playing a few weeks ago? I can answer your other questions though.

I stay at 20-30 ms, have never been disconnected and server is always up. The server is fine.

And I dont own any pumices because I have cancdl magic

In all honesty though, the staff should really consider resetting red. It's needed. Greens fun, sure... But its fun can't compare to a new pvp servers fun, no way :)

It really isn't appropriate to ask for dev-level access to the server you play on. Guide applications are open if you're willing to quit.

ToV is fine btw (they even patched it for Red). We just don't have enough cooperating players to clear it.

It rooted all NToV dragons, so now instead of pulling them to the zone-in to kill them, the raid force must crawl and kill many pathers along the way, that have fast respawns, making it very difficult for 30-40 people.

You seem confused. Your guildmate suggested NToV not dying is some kind of negligence inflicted by the developers on Red. It's not; the current playerbase of Red isn't motivated or big enough to kill NToV and that's fine. Demanding that the developers make the content easier for you instead is pretty childish.

It seems like the problem is when level 55 plus get to powerful. Why not lower the resists from 50 plus towards level 55 plus and make high end raiding zones all level pvp. I think i heard that last idea from someone else actually.

Red has been RIP for years now but there are enough psychopaths waiting for it to fire up fresh.

At this point it is safe to say that they won't touch red 2.0 for another two years when green hits velious and people are wishing they could relive the classic timeline again.

Exception to this would be if they made it a discord permadeath or other "seasons" sort of layout, which I think would solve a lot of problems at this point. Once the season ends the toons are deleted or rolled into red99 classic.

One thing is that the LIVE discord server didnt come out until like POP? era when they had the whole sets of newbie questable armor and weapons available, and they didn't revert that content or any other old world content like the runneyeye revamp that changed everything to blackened ALLOY instead of iron, which made the blackened alloy bastard sword basically best weapon in the game.

Despite that, no one had the BABS because it was too dicey to go into runnyeye with its pathing and enemies trying to get you to permadeath, so no one had that blade anyways.

But it would be a unique deal here on red 99 discord brown because it would be actually limited to classic items and content, I assume.

I think its going to be really fun for us when it happens. The community will always be a little bit horrible. I think that they should close down the PVP forums and only allow pvp discussion IN GAME (with no global OOC so you gotta meet in GFAY) so that the toxic doesn't go into this permanent archive of poison.

Because in game people are better than mad forum questers.

Imagine leveling in MM or unrest. I never understood how people didn’t know how to level outside of those areas. When red was red you buffed and pulled shit to a corner and hope to get some exp before fights over Craig spiders started again.

Might I suggest:


Guild wars on all P99 servers that let a level 60 fight a level 1(and all levels in between) in the opposing guild everywhere across all zones if their guild is at war with another
A few days or more every month at a random interval(unexpected), several major raid zones are flagged PVP to everyone in them (and allow level 1s to PVP w level 60s) - Do this also on all P99 servers. Please do this right after a quake for more fun - but wait 20+ minutes to flag everyone in those raid zones PVP
